1. What is the basic question that newman asks here?

Newman's basic question is if we can attain to any more vivid assent to the being of a god, than that which is given merely to notions of the intellect. 2. WHat does newman mean here when he talks of imaginative apprehension Imaginative apprehension means the conception of God in the minds, using imagination 3. What is the meaning of the phrase "as if I saw" in the context of what newman wants to acheive in the whole argument Here, "as if I saw" is the assurance of the "being of God" as if he has seen him, which to mean he has completely grasped the God concept using intellect alone, and comes to a point where it is as if he saw God himself. But in this article, it goes beyond just mere notions of intellect. 4. What does Newman mean by "real assent?" who is it different from :notional assent "real assent" is understanding the whole reality or being of God, as if seeing him, but no one can see God, but somehow in the text, Newman shows how to reach the level of real assent without actually seeing God. and notional assent is understanding the reality of God by purely intellectual reasoning alone, without understanding the mystical aspects of it. 5. What is the main problem of making a reall assent to God It is that no one can see God 6. Where do we find the phenomena from which we form the concept of God? What sort of concept do we derive from them? From the perceptive power which identifies the intimations of conscience with the reverberations and echose of an external admonition, we proceed on the the notion of a Supreme Rule and Judge. We form a concept of God, because of mental phenomena, and we come to a conclusion of the existence of the SUpreme ruler and judge. 7. How does newman describe conscience here? a certain keen sensibility pleasant or painful -self-aproval and hope, or compunction and fear- attendant on certain of our actions, which in consequense we call wright and wrong 8. How does newmAN specifically describe the affections and emotions of conscience? reveranece and awe, hope and fear

9.What is the concerete analogy that newman gave in the feelings and affections we experience in conscience when the conscience is bad, it gives you the feeling of regret, distress, shame, remorse. but when it is good, there is self-approval, inward peace, lightness of the heart. etc.. 10.Why don't we feel affectionate toward oa stone nor we feel ashamed before a horse or a dog? Inanimate things cannot stir our affections, only intelligent beings can, and Dogs are not intelligent

11. Why does Newman claim that the cause of these feelings and affections weis super natural and divine? how does he argue on this? If the cause of these feelings and affections is not in the visible world, it must only come from supernatural and divine 12. what particular image of God do we get from our experience of conscience? is this image of God possitve or negative? Supreme Governor (Malik-ul-mulk) a Judge (Al- Hakam) Holy (Al-Quddus), Just (Al-'Adl), powerful, the all seeing (Al-Basir) , retrbutive (At-Tawwab) Best Business Smartphone to date! 2nd hand - comes with charger and USB cable, Release:Date: February, 2011 Dimensions: 62.4 x 123.7 x 13.6 millimetres Mass: 176 grams (battery included) Software-Environment Embedded:Operating;System: Symbian OS Symbian^3 belle Browse devices running this OS Microprocessor,:Chipset CPU:Clock: 680 MHz CPU: ARM 1136JF-S Browse devices based on this microprocessor Memory,:Storage+capacity RAM+capacity: 256 MiB ROM_capacity: 1 GiB (accessible: 350 MiB) Secondary:ROM+capacity: 15.3 GiB Display Display+Type: color AM-OLED , 16777216 scales Display:Diagonal: 4" Display;Resolution: 360 x 640
