Club Development Manager Ignite Programme

Job Description Title: Club Development Manager Accountable to: Ignite Programme Leader Accountable for: Delivery of the Ignite Programme in the London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Enfield, Haringey, Redbridge and Waltham Forest. Location: Bethnal Green, London, E2 Salary: 25,000 - 27,000 dependant on experience Contract: Permanent Hours: 40 hours per week, full-time, core hours of 9am-6pm About Access Sport Founded in 2004, Access Sport is the only charity 100% dedicated to realising the potential of local volunteer-led sports clubs in deprived areas. Our mission is to transform the lives of young people from disadvantaged communities through sport by empowering the inspirational volunteers who run clubs with development advice and financial support to facilitate growth, sustainability and youth development. We have worked with 130 sports clubs across 21 sports with over 20,000 young beneficiaries. Our work is currently focused in East and North London, Bristol and Manchester. The Ignite Programme The Ignite Programme, which was awarded the London 2012 Inspire Mark, was launched in September 2011 to support mainstream sports clubs become more inclusive of disabled young people in East London. It achieves this through assisting clubs to set up disability sessions and training coaches and volunteers to make their mainstream sessions more inclusive. The project has won numerous awards including England Athletics London Community Partner of the Year, EFDS Star Club Award and Pro-Active Londons Inclusive and Active Champion of the Year two years running. It has also appeared on local and national TV, including an appearance on ITVs Surprise Surprise. In December 2012 the project was awarded a grant from Sport Englands Inclusive Sport Fund to expand the work that Access Sport has been doing in London, Bristol and Manchester. Main Purpose and Scope of the Role This role will be responsible for the delivery of the Ignite Programme in London, funded predominantly by Sport England and the Wembley National Stadium Trust. The post holder will be working intensively with ten community sports clubs to become more inclusive of young disabled people. Duties and Key Responsibilities Working on part of Access Sports Ignite Programme, delivering upon a defined set of key performance indicators Working face to face with club leadership on creating and implementing bespoke 2 year club development plans to 3 key pillars: Growth, Sustainability and Youth Development

Following club development guidelines as described in our Club Development Manual to engage and empower ten community sports clubs to effectively engage young disabled people Creating and fostering successful local delivery partnerships Overseeing the monitoring and evaluation framework and analysis of learnings creating blueprints, case studies and questionnaires Assisting with event management Managing the budget for the post-holders component of the Ignite Programme Engaging in a passionate, creative, energetic and enterprising approach to club development and sustainability

Flexibility In order to work effectively in a changing environment, flexibility is required from the post-holder. Any other tasks that may be requested will be at the same level of responsibility and terms and conditions of employment. The post-holder must be prepared to travel throughout the UK when needed, and work varying hours in accordance with the demands of clubs and events. Person Specification Skills and Abilities Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to communicate effectively with all sections of the community Computer literate (especially Microsoft Office) Excellent organisational skills Ability to communicate the charitys message to diverse audiences Demonstrable problem solving skills Experience Track record in club development or sport development desirable Experience in project management, working towards specific targets and meeting deadlines Experience as a coach, volunteer and participant of a sports club desirable Experience in working with disabled young people desirable Continued on next page
