Ultra-light, deeply scalloped, revival bracing drives power

Master class wood sets available standard or as a custom option.

Scalloped, forward shifted X-brace that is lightweight and allows for a quick release of energy. Hand-graduated Adirondack Spruce top that is voiced for a precise projection.

We achieve this through careful examination of each top to determine its potential based on how flexible or stiff it is. Then we apply the graduation process to the top so it delivers the most punch and root note power. Scalloped lightweight forward X-brace allows for a quick note release.

Sustain, Balance and Clarity

Instead of a single specification where all tops are milled to the same thickness, our process of hand-graduation makes the most of each tops potential by taking its flexibility and stiffness into account. The slightly thicker treble side of the top allows for the higher frequencies to resonate in balance with the lower frequencies. The bridge truss system relieves the string tension from pulling against the soundboard allowing the top to vibrate freely to maximize sustain. The pinless winged bridge allows for easy string change while working with the scalloped braces balance the string-to-top energy.

Redwoods northwest origins and outstanding properties make it a very special wood for our guitar tops. Weve enjoyed the sonic and visual benefits of Redwood through many years of instrument building, so we decided a series of Redwood-topped guitars deserved a place in the Breedlove line-up. Thus was born the Focus series. Redwood adds a touch of brilliance and dynamics to the warm, clear overtones found with cedar. Its a delicious timbre -- especially for players who love a detailed, sophisticated tone. Our Redwood is master-grade quality and is harvested from salvaged lumber and reclaimed old-growth timber.

Our team worked extensively with electronics expert LR Baggs to develop a system to best capture the elements lost by typical piezo systems. We arrived at a solution based around Baggs Anthem Tru-Voice electronics system. The Breedlove Anthem Tru-Voice system is custom tuned to our body shapes and wood combinations. The system consists of a noise-cancelling microphone that rides inside the body above the bridge plate to capture the true tone and character of the instruments.

Stage Series solid top guitars feature Breedloves signature designs and amazing tone at an incredible value. These instruments are designed and engineered at our Custom Design Center in Bend, Oregon USA and are handcrafted by our sister workshop in Korea. Every Stage series instrument undergoes a rigorous inspection and set-up at our Bend, Oregon USA workshop.

The Preamp system contains 4 tone adjustments with a volume knob, phase button and a tuner. When a string is in tune the backlight turns green; when not in tune it remains orange. A great feature for tuning on dark stages.
