CelonLab ENT

Characteristics CelonLab ENT is the intelligent power control unit used for the deployment of the bipolar RFITT applicators in ENT procedures. Applications Multi-level treatment of sleep-related breathing disorders, such as occasional or habitual snoring as well as mild cases of obstructive sleep apnoea Nasal concha hyperplasia Palatine tonsil hyperplasia Nasal polyps Excess mucous membrane around the palatine arches (webbing) Uvula hyperplasia Treatment of tumours in the head-neck area Treatment in the region of the larynx, e.g. spasmodic dysphonia Advantages Suitable for a wide range of ENT applications Simple and safe operation 3D impedance feedback control: automatic monitoring and regulation of the entire soft-coagulation process Auto-stop function: reproducible lesion sizes

CelonLab ENT
Therapeutic effect As the centrepiece of the CelonENT system, the innovative CelonLab ENT serves to control the bipolar RFITT applicators, the CelonProCut system as well as the bipolar forceps. CelonLab ENT monitors and regulates the entire soft-coagulation process automatically. Prior to treatment, it is only necessary to set the power recommended for the selected application and the desired treatment result. Automatic dosimetry control and 3D impedance feedback control ensure reproducible results. An acoustic signal provides continuous information on the progress of treatment and puts the doctor in direct control, without becoming distracted from the treatment itself. Once the defined lesion size has been reached, the power control unit CelonLab ENT automatically reduces the power output. The soft-coagulation is completed and CelonLab ENT informs the doctor with an acoustic signal. CelonProSleep plus

Characteristics CelonProSleep plus is the bipolar RFITT applicator for outpatient treatment of sleeprelated breathing disorders. The applicator allows flexible deployment within the combined treatment (multilevel therapy) of the soft palate, the palatine tonsils and the root of the tongue. Indications Habitual snoring Hypertrophic palatine tonsils in adults and children Mild cases of obstructive sleep apnoea Advantages Gentle, repeatable treatment Precise and reproducible thermo-lesions Outpatient procedure under local anaesthesia* Short treatment time (only a few minutes) Minimal pain during and after the procedure Low risk of bleeding
* General anaesthesia is advisable for root of the tongue treatment in certain cases. ** General anaesthesia recommended for the treatment of palatine tonsils in small children.

CelonProSleep plus
Therapeutic effect The bipolar RFITT applicator CelonProSleep plus generates precise and reproducible thermo-lesions in the tissue of the soft palate, the palatine tonsils and root of the tongue. The patients body gradually breaks down the coagulated tissue following treatment, resulting in a reduction in volume. Tightening and stiffening of the muscle of the soft palate can also be achieved as a result of the formation of scar tissue. Depending on the indication, combined treatment, e.g. of the soft palate, tonsils, root of the tongue or also nasal concha, can be effective. Application Procedures can generally take place under local anaesthesia.* This entails inserting the bipolar RFITT applicator CelonProSleep plus into the tissue region to be treated: For treatment of the palate into the centre of the palate muscle medially and laterally above the uvula For tonsil reduction into the palatine tonsils For treatment of the root of the tongue into the region of the circumvallatae papillae The curved form of the CelonProSleep plus applicator allows the doctor to easily reach the soft palate, the palatine tonsils and the root of the tongue. Submucosal treatment of the deeper lying tissue layers is also possible, thanks to the bipolar RFITT applicators special construction. Tissue or organ surfaces remain intact and postoperative pain and the risk of infection are reduced. Treatment requires successive puncture points to be applied close to one another.
* General anaesthesia is advisable for root of the tongue treatment in certain cases. ** General anaesthesia is recommended for the treatment of palatine tonsils in small children. Treatment of the soft palate

CelonProBreath

Characteristics CelonProBreath is the bipolar RFITT applicator for submucosal volume reduction of hyperplastic nasal concha. Indications Hyperplasia of the nasal concha Habitual snoring (combined treatment) Mild obstructive sleep apnoea (combined treatment) Advantages Gentle, repeatable treatment Precise and reproducible thermo-lesions Outpatient procedure under local anaesthesia Short treatment time (only a few minutes) Minimal pain during and after the procedure Ciliated epithelium remains intact Low risk of bleeding

CelonProBreath
Therapeutic effect CelonProBreath facilitates submucosal volume reduction of the hyperplastic nasal concha by deep coagulation. The ciliated epithelium and mucous membranes, essential for the proper function of the nose, remain intact. After a few days the body breaks down the coagulated tissue of the nasal concha thereby reducing the volume of the nasal concha. The pathway available for the flow of breath is expanded. Note: A slight swelling and a temporary impairment of nasal breathing may initially occur after the procedure due to the decomposition process taking place, but this is only of brief duration. Application Procedures can normally be carried out under local anaesthesia. The applicator CelonProBreath is inserted and pushed dorsally into the head of the concha, along the bone to the rear end of the concha. Stepwise retraction and repeated energy emission can generate a continuous submucosal thermo-lesion along the entire length of the concha body. The markings on the bipolar RFITT applicator make correct placement easier for each additional coagulation. By virtue of the special construction of the CelonProBreath bipolar RFITT applicator, purely submucosal treatment is possible, in which the ciliated epithelium remains intact. As the entire puncture channel is coagulated right up to the point of insertion, there is little tendency to bleed so that swabs are usually not required.

CelonProCut
Therapeutic effect Soft tissue in the pharyngeal area can be efficiently and gently removed in an outpatient procedure using the CelonProCut bipolar RFITT cutting system. The combination of coagulation of the soft palate with the removal of excess mucous membrane around the palatine arches (webbing) and the shortening of the uvula can be used to support the treatment of habitual snoring. Additional tightening and a significant expansion of the pathway for the flow of breath can be achieved. This multilevel RFITT enables increased efficiency of the treatment results. Application Procedures can normally be carried out under local anaesthesia. The doctor holds the uvula with the forceps, which also serve as return electrode and provide the palatine arch with the stability required for cutting. The fine cutting electrode ensures fast and precise cutting. The current remains confined to the tissue area undergoing treatment; a neutral electrode is not required. As the procedure is combined with tightening of the soft palate muscle, the removal of excess mucous membrane and the resection of the tip of the uvula can be carried out while leaving the muscle largely intact.
