The Numbers of the Words
by Craig Wm. Peters

Psalm 42: Revealing I Am That I Am, the Living Elohim

a Why is Psalm 42 the forty-second song of the Psalms? And why is Psalm 42 the
first song of BOOK TWO? Yes! The Psalms are divided into five, separate books: BOOK ONE, BOOK TWO, BOOK THREE, BOOK FOUR, and BOOK FIVE. And BOOK TWO begins with Psalm 42. Since the ordering and numbering of Tehillim, or the Psalms, is inspired, there is a purpose for each of the psalms having been placed at a particular place in the sequence of 150 songs. In this ongoing series of studies, many remarkable instances of these inspired number connections have been noted so we will not take the time to recount the evidence revealed in the Spirit and documented thus far. However, it was previously shown that the Book of Tehillim/Psalms is divided into five partseach of which corresponds to the Five Books of Mosheh, the Torahwhat some call the Pentateuch. For those recently joining us, we show this five-part division once again: BOOK ONE: BOOK TWO: BOOK THREE: BOOK FOUR: BOOK FIVE: Breshit: Shemot: Vayyikra: Bemidbar: Debarim: The Genesis Book: The Exodus Book: The Leviticus Book: The Numbers Book: The Deuteronomy Book: Psalms 1 41 Psalms 42 72 Psalms 73 89 Psalms 90 106 Psalms 107 150

Readers are referred to the Companion Bible for E.W. Bullingers additional comments on this matter as he shows much evidence of the connection between the Five Books of the Torah and the Five Books of the Psalms.1 Since this division is openly noted in the Hebrew Tanak/Bible, many English translations will have BOOK ONE as a major heading above Psalm 1, BOOK TWO as the heading above Psalm 42, BOOK THREE will be prominently seen just above Psalm 73, and so on. Unfortunately, some translations do not include these inspired and instructive divisions so, in those cases, no special headings will be seen. The subject of our study, Psalm 42, is the very first psalm of BOOK TWOthe book which corresponds to the Book of Exodus, or in Hebrew, Shemot. But why is this psalm the first song of BOOK TWO? In Hebrew, the word Shem/MS means name, while Shemot/twmS means names, being the plural of MS/Shem/name. In the Hebrew Scriptures, the Book of Exodus is called Shemot; this is so because Exodus 1:1 begins with the phrase, These are the names:

BOOK TWO
Tehillim 42
Maschil for the sons of Korach

1 As the deer pants upon the streams of water, so pants my being to You, Elohim. 2 My being thirsts for Elohim, for the living El: when shall I come, and I will see the face of Elohim? 3 My tears have been my bread by day and night, while they say to me all the day, Where is your Elohim? 4 These things I remember and have poured out my being within me: how I passed along with the multitude, how I went on with them to the House of Elohim, with the voice of joy and praise, a multitude keeping a festival. 5 Why are you cast down, my being, and are disquieted within me? Hope in Elohim; for I shall yet praise Him, for the deliverance of His face/presence.2 6 My Elohim, my being is cast down within me; therefore do I remember You from the land of the Yarden,3 and the Hermons, from Mount Mitzar. 7 Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; all Your waves and Your breakers have gone over me. 8 By day hwhy commands His chesed, and in the night His song shall be with me, a prayer unto the El of my life. 9 I will say to El, My Rock, why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? 10 As with a crushing in my bones, my adversaries reproach me, while they say to me all the day, Where is your Elohim? 11 Why are you cast down, my being, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in Elohim; for I shall yet praise Him, the deliverance of my face, and my Elohim.

(a reference to the Birkat Kohanim, the Aaronic Blessing, Numbers 6:22-27) (i.e., the Jordan river)

While it will not be immediately apparent, the Spirit reveals, in some measure, why Psalm 42 is Psalm 42 and why hwhy chose this number to open the Shemot/Exodus Book of Tehillim. Although Shemot begins with the words, These are the names of the sons of Yisrael, who came into Egypt4this phrase does not directly reveal the most important name which is more greatly revealed through the many events that took place before, during, and after the exodus of Yisrael from Egypt (as recorded in the Book of Exodus). For it was the Name revealed to Mosheh at the burning bush,5 the Name above all names, the Name of hwhy, that would show forth His immense power in delivering the nation of Yisrael from some 400 years of hard bondage in Egypt.6 And it was the Name above all names that was more greatly revealed to Mosheh during His 80 days of prayer and fasting on Mount Sinai.7 It is in honor of this great Name that Psalm 42 is set forth, not only as the 42nd song in the Psalter, but as the very first song in BOOK TWO, the Exodus Book. The Revelation Made to Mosheh at the Burning Bush Mosheh was called by hwhy to reveal His great Name to Yisrael in a new and living way: the people would see the love and power of Elohim in subduing the mighty nation of Mitzrayim/Egypt; they would see His love and power in the dividing of Yam Suf (the Sea of Reeds); they would see His love and power in the thundering of the Torah from Mount Sinai; and they would see His love and power in the provision of manna from heaven and water to drink in the desert. After hwhy saw Mosheh had turned aside to see the burning bush, it was only then that He spoke to the shepherd8 in the Arabian desert/wilderness. May we never fail to turn aside to see and to study the splendors of hwhy revealed in His creation.9 This is not worshipping nature (as some will charge) provided we are ascribing greatness to hwhy as the Creator. His Word provides very clear indications hwhy wishes to speak to us through His handiwork.10 When hwhy appeared to Mosheh, the shepherd of Midian was directed to go to Egypt and bring forth Yisrael out of bondage. Mosheh then questioned Elohim regarding His Name: 13 And Mosheh said to Elohim, Behold, when I come to the children of Yisrael, and shall say to them, The Elohim of your fathers has sent me to you; and they will say to me, What is His Name? What shall I say to them? 14 And Elohim said to Mosheh, I Am that I Am: and He said, Thus you shall say to the children of Yisrael, I Am has sent me to you. Shemot/Exodus 3:14-15

Exodus 1:1 Exodus 3 6 Exodus 9:16 7 Exodus 24:12-18, 34:1-35 8 Exodus 3:3-4 9 While we are especially commanded to do this each Shabbat, it is never forbidden on any day! 10 Exodus 20:11, Job 38-39, 40:15-41:34, Psalm 19:1-6, Proverbs 6:6-8, 30:18-19, 24-28, Romans 1:18-21, 1Corinthians 11:14-15

In Hebrew, the phrase I Am that I Am, looks like this:

= hyha rSa hyha = Ayeh asher Ayeh = I Am that I Am

I Am that I Am I Am that I Am

Only hwhy can say hyha, that is: I ( a ) Am ( hyh ): Only He can say I (ever) Exist, for He alone possesses immortality.11 And this reveals the most basic meaning of His Name: When His worshippers refer to hwhy by His Name, the ALEPH ( a )the Hebrew prefix meaning Ibecomes a YOD ( y )the Hebrew prefix meaning He. This gives us the Name of hwhythe Name which means, He ( y ) is/will be ( hwh ). So the Name of hwhy literally means, He is.12 hwhy is the ever living, ever existing Elohim. Having established from Scripture itself some of the meaning and importance of the Name of hwhy,13 we close this section by establishing the misparim for the phrase I Am that I Am. We obtain the misparim value for this phrase as follows:14

= hyha rSa hyha = Ayeh asher Ayeh = I Am that I Am

I Am that I Am
(1) a

that

543 = (5) h + (10) y + (5) h +

+ (200) r + (300) S +

(1)

a + (5) h + (10) y + (5) h + (1) a

We will not only see why the number 543 is a value of such stunning significance, but will soon discover why Psalm 42 opens BOOK TWOthe Shemot/Exodus Book of the Psalms. The Numerical Relationship Between I Am That I Am and the Prophet Mosheh In Hebrew, the name of Mosheh/hSm has the following misparim value:

345 = (5) h + (300) S + (40) m = hSm = Mosheh = Moses

But if the number 345 is reversed, notice we return, once more, to the number 543 the misparim of the Hebrew phrase, I Am that I Am. It is both amazing and inspired that these two numbers are the reversal of each other: 345 and 543 are what some people call the mirror image of each other. Consequently, we can safely say 543 the One who states of Himself I Am that I Am, the ever-existent, immutable Elohimcalled 345 (Mosheh) to further reveal His Name and His Torah. And yet, there is still more. We are further blessed to see that, if the Hebrew letters which compose the name of Mosheh (hSm) are written in the reverse order, we obtain the Hebrew word haShem (MSh)a word which translates into the phrase meaning the Name. For those who are in the beginning stages of learning Hebrew, we further

explain that while m (MEM) and M (MEM) look different, they are still the same Hebrew letter. The latter MEM (M) is called the MEM SOFEET because its original form is altered whenever it takes the last position in a Hebrew word. Having the same three Hebrew letters, the misparim for the word/phrase, the Name (MSh / haShem) is, of course, equivalent to the misparim of Mosheh:

345 = (40) M + (300) S + (5) h = MSh = haShem = the Name

Given the ministry of Mosheh was inspired to more greatly reveal the Name of hwhy, we assert it is beyond the amazing to realize that the reversal of his name is haShem/MShthe Hebrew word which means the Name. And once more, we are given great blessings of encouragement upon realizing the Sovereign Hand of hwhyso often hidden to us in our human frailty and shortsighted, mortal visionis nevertheless there whether it abides seen or unseen.15 His ways are past finding out,16 even as the shaliach17 Shaul wrote: 32 For Elohim has shut up all in unbelief, in order that He might show mercy to all. 33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of Elohim! How unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out! Romans 11:32-33 There are numerous other connections to be made with the numbers 543 and 345,18 and these are relationships which can be nothing less than inspired by the Sovereign Hand of the One whose Mind possesses infinite wisdom and foreknowledge, and whose heart is filled with infinite love and kindness. Why Does BOOK TWO of the Psalms Begin With Tehillim 42? The numerical structure seen in the phrase, I Am that I Am, shows us why Psalm 42 opens the Shemot/Exodus Book of Tehillim. Note the pattern of forty-twos which are revealed in the phrase I Am that I Am:

Mosheh was named by a pagan princess of Mitzrayim/Egypt! Exodus 2:1-10 Psalm 145:3, Romans 11:33 17 (i.e., apostle; literally, sent one) 18 See the study The Prophet Mosheh and the Name of hwhy : http://www.scribd.com/doc/23092363/The-Prophet-Mosheh-and-Name-of-YHWH

around forty-two. Of course, the total sum of the place values for the phrase I Am that I Am is 84. And we note that 84 is the product of 42 and 2: 42 x 2 = 84. So the place value (pv) of the phrase I Am that I Am is pulsating with the number 42! 2. The second line of numbers shows the misparim value (mv) of each of the three words. Notice there is a 21 on either side of 501. Since 21 + 21 = 42, this gives us a total of 42 around/surrounding 501. The total sum of the misparim values for the phrase I Am that I Am (as previously seen) is 543. 3. The third line of numbers shows the full value (fv) of each of the three words. Notice there is a forty-two on either side of the 543. The total sum of the full values (fv) of this phrase is 627. Thus, through the phrase I Am that I Am wisdom is calling aloud19 that we might hear and ponder the number 42. And we believe this explains a major reason behind why the Spirit has inspired Tehillim 42 to be the opening song for BOOK TWO, the Exodus Book20 of the Psalms. And because of this, we also believe hwhy is using Psalm 42 to call our attention to more of the meaning behind His descriptive revelation: I Am that I Amthe One who begins to reveal more of Himself to Mosheh, to Yisrael, and to the world in chapter 3 of Shemot/Exodus (as well as throughout the entire account of Exodus). I Am That I Am: The Living Elohim The phrase, I Am that I Am, reveals to us that hwhy is the Living Elohim: He is, He was, and He is to come.21 His sovereign working is in the present, His sovereign working is in the past, and His sovereign working will be manifested still more and more, for every eye to see,22 in the future. hwhy is the One who will ultimately prevail over all evil and He will fulfill His plans and purposesregardless of who opposes Him.23 His hearing ears and seeing eyes24 will result in punishment upon the lawless while great rewards will be given to all those who seek Him and who walk in His ways. While hwhy is All-Loving, He sees and knows all things; and His nature requires Him to recompense those who work iniquity.25 But iniquity is the result of a perverted spiritual thirst. We will ponder more on this momentarily.

Writing by the Spirit, the psalmist speaks in Tehillim 42 to emphasize his thirst for the Living Elohim: As the deer pants upon the streams of water, so pants my being to You, Elohim. 2 My being thirsts for Elohim, for the living El: when shall I come? and I will see the face of Elohim. Psalm 42:1-2 The writer of this song expresses here a great truth: our thirst for lifeour thirst for what makes us really livecan only be answered in the Presence of the Most High. When we physically thirst it is not only very real, but it is impossible to forget, to dismiss from ones mind: it is something that is always there. And water is the only answer. Yet such is the case in the spiritual realm: spiritual thirst is not only very real, but it is impossible to forget; it is something that is always there. And the Presence of hwhy is the only answer. Not realizing this, the unbeliever will seek for nearly anything to satisfy a spiritual thirst that can only be answered by his or her Creator. This is an instinctive thirst for life, yet true life only comes forth from the Living Elohim. The Spirit emphasizes this to us, once more, with the words of the prophets Eliyahu/Elijah and Elisha. When these men spoke truth in the Name of hwhy, they proclaimed, As hwhy of Hosts lives! Then said Eliyahu, Lives hwhy of Hosts, before whom I stand! Today, will I show myself to him. 1Kings 18:15 Then said Elisha, Lives hwhy of Hosts, before whom I stand! Were it not that, the countenance of Yahoshaphat, king of Yahudah, I would lift up, I would neither look at you, nor see you. 2Kings 3:14 But behold the misparim for this declaration made by the two prophets! The misparim value of this phrase is 543, precisely matching the misparim value for I Am that I Am!

Here we see the misparim (543) for the words spoken by Eliyahu and Elisha precisely matching the misparim for the declaration made by hwhy that He ever lives and ever works to establish His Sovereign will! But remember, I Am that I Am also has a misparim of 543. So the Spirit is emphasizing to us that the One who declares I Am that I Am, is also the Living Elohim: the reality of all that He is overrides past,present, and future. That He is called hwhy Tse-ba-ot / of Hosts, means He
7

wields sovereign control over all the host/armies of heaven, and earth, and under the earth:26 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; and He does according to His will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay His hand, or say to Him, What are You doing? Daniel 4:35 That He is the Living Elohim is further proclaimed in/through Psalm 42. Thus, the Spirit has truly inspired this marvelous connection between I Am that I Am, the Living Elohim, and Tehillim 42. Thirsting for the Living Elohim So hwhy states of Himself: I Am that I Am. His sovereign working is in the present, His sovereign working is in the past, and His sovereign working will be increasingly manifested in the future: Of the increase of His Government and of peace there shall be no end. Isaiah 9:7 hwhy is the One who will ultimately prevail over all evil and He will fulfill His plans and purposesregardless of the opposition.27 In light of this, there is one question the reader might personally ponder: What is the wisdom behind opposing the King of the Universe? Since iniquity is the result of a perverted spiritual hunger and thirst, we see todays masses following after the things of the world.28 Yet pursuing the things of this world in complete disregard for Elohim is much like those who are thirsty turning aside to drink salt water: Instead of quenching their thirst, it only leaves them more insatiable; they are thirstier still. Through the prophet Jeremiah, hwhy said it like this: Thus says hwhy, What unrighteousness have your fathers found in Me, that they have gone far from Me, and have followed after emptiness and have become empty? Jeremiah 2:5 Those who have reached the heights of great success in this world are a witness to all that, after attaining to such pinnacles, there is still much emptiness. Famous movie stars have it all, or so it seems, but have they found true fulfillment? With lives in such disarray (and sometimes in complete shambles), much evidence indicates that a great many of their number have still not found whatever it is their hearts are longing for. Whether ones success is measured financially, politically, or socially,29 many of those who bask in the abundance of such things make it painfully evident that a great

Genesis 2:1, 32:1-2, Joshua 5:14-15 Isaiah 8:10, Psalm 10:16 28 Jeremiah 2:5, Matthew 6:31-32, 1John 2:15-17 29 (i.e., in fame and popularity)

emptiness still abides in the heart. They have followed after vanity and have become vain; they have followed after emptiness and have become empty. Even King Solomonwho had 700 wives and 300 concubineswas still not fulfilled by this number of women. And so, he would later write: What my soul still seeks, yet I have not found: one man out of a thousand, I have found, but a woman among all these, I have not found. Ecclesiastes 7:28 Even with 1000 women,30 King Solomon still did not find true fulfillment. Yet why is it that people do not find fulfillment in the things they so readily pursue to obtain a life of peace and contentedness? Why is there still emptiness? People will never find fulfillment apart from finding it in the Most High. This is so because we have been made by a Creator, and hwhy has formed us so that we cannot be at rest until that rest and fulfillment have been found in Him. Only in His Presence will we find the ultimate rest and fulfillment which all humans crave. Even though the great majority seek for this contentedness in all the wrong places, those who know hwhy have learned through experience that such blessings of peace and fulfillment are only to be had in His Presence: My being finds rest in Elohim alone; From Him is my deliverance. Psalm 62:1, ISRV And in another psalm we read, Return to your rest, O my soul, for hwhy has dealt bountifully with you. Psalm 116:7 Through Yeshayahu, hwhy spoke of the strength and the peace which can only be found by continually returning to find rest in His Presence: For thus says the Sovereign hwhy, the Set Apart One of Yisrael: In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength. But you would not. Isaiah 30:15 There is nothing like continually returning to hwhy, continually bowing before Him and resting in His Presence.31 This is true rest, yet it is the one thing that most peopleincluding many believerswill not do. But blessed are those who have learned hwhy is their only Source of life and strength: the quietude, peace, and faithbased confidence we need for life and living are found nowhere other than in His very Presence. The apostle Shaul said it like this:
30 31

(700 wives and 300 concubines, 1Kings 11:3) Psalm 46:10

for in Him we live, and move, and have our being; Acts 17:28 Only in hwhy do we truly live; only in Him do we truly find rest; and only in Him may we reach our fullest potential in this lifetime. The Messiah came to bring life and immortality to light through the Good News,32 and He further directs us to find our rest in hwhy through following Him: 28 Come unto Me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.33 Matthew 11:28-30
t s r q u p e o n m l k y j x z w h d g b a

So what does it mean to thirst for the Living Elohim? Everyone has a hunger and thirst which are unquenchable apart from abiding in a proper relationship with hwhy. This hunger and thirst are only answered in Him. We must find our peace, rest, and joy in Elohim because, like it or not, hwhy designed us so that He is our only Source of those essential, life-giving requirements. Only in hwhy is our soul at rest. Only in Him do we live and move and have our being. Only in Him do we find the fulfillment that nothing else can provide. In Tehillim 42, we read of the psalmists thirst for the Living Elohim: As the deer pants upon the streams of water, so pants my being to You, Elohim. 2 My being thirsts for Elohim, for the living El: When shall I come? And I will see the face of Elohim. Psalm 42:1-2 In Hebrew, the phrase My being thirsts for Elohim, for the living El, appears as follows:

yx lal Myhlal yspn hamu

living for El for Elohim my soul thirsts

And some of the Hebrew number values associated with this phrase are shown below:

But what does it mean to thirst for Elohim? And how do we stir up such a thirst? It seems we live in days of spiritual helplessness. Few understand the dynamic between the fact that hwhy is Sovereign and the need to pray. His will shall be fully accomplishedregardless of anything man does or does not do. But because of this, some falsely reason, Why pray? While the Hand of hwhy is not limited, He does wait to act until His Spirit can move on the hearts of those whose zeal burns for His Names sake. So when hwhy wills to do something, to bring something to pass, He will cause His Spirit to move on and within the heart, mind, and life of those whose lives work to bring honor to the Most High, blessed be His Name. Those are the believers who continually pray and who learn more of His will by abiding in the Presence of hwhy. These are the believers who know: His Presence is our greatest need, and everything we need is in His Presence. eSwhy the Messiah said it like this: But seek first the Kingdom of Elohim, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33 If our spiritual needs are met in His Presence, then the Spirit of hwhy is fulfilling our greatest needs; and His sovereignty will see to meeting our needs in the physical realm. Concern over the physical things often keeps people from seeking their all-important, spiritual needs.34 Young believers need to have greater manifestations of His Spirit, and the evidence of that Presence rightly stirs their zeal to do great things for the Kingdom. But as we mature, hwhy withdraws the need for such feelings because He wants us to learn how to stir up ourselveshow to stir up our zeal regardless of feelings and regardless of any circumstance, whether good or bad. Speaking to the recognized leaders of His day, the Mashiach said to them: 25 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full from extortion and excess. 26 You blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and of the platter, that the outside thereof may become clean also. Matthew 23:25-26
34

Matthew 6:32, Mark 4:19

11

What was it that these men could have done to affect such an inner cleansing? For according to the words of eSwhy, there was something they needed to do on their part to bring about the needed inner cleansing. There was something they needed to personally initiate: The ball was in their court, as we say in the States. Writing to Timothy, Shaul instructed the young leader, For which cause I remind you to stir up the gift of Elohim that is in you through the laying on of my hands 2Timothy 1:6 What was it that Timothy needed to do to stir up his thirst for Elohim, to stir up the gift that was within him? Scripture indicates that we stir up our zeal, and we stir up our thirst for Elohim, as we experience physical thirst during times of prayer and fasting. Those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will more fully manifest that spiritual hunger and thirst during, through, and because of times set apart for fasting with prayer. Fasting and prayer also purify our hearts and minds, cleansing the inside of the cup and of the platter so that the Spirit of hwhy is able to more fully abide in His temple.35 Fasting and prayer break up the fallow ground,36 preparing our heart for the Presence of hwhy to be made known more fully. When eSwhy spoke of hungering and thirsting for righteousness, He was referring to nothing less than prayer and fasting: Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Matthew 5:6 And this takes us back to the words of Psalm 42. Notice that 136 is the misparim value for the word translated thirsts:

(mv)

136 = (5) h + (1) a + (40) m + (90) u = hamu = thirsts37

Yet this is also the misparim value for the Hebrew word Mwu/tsme, meaning fast/fasting: (mv) 136 = (5) + h + (40) m + (6) w + (90) u = Mwu = tsme = fast/fasting The Spirit confirming that faith without works is dead;38 the physical hunger and thirst we encounter during times of prayer and fasting is the evidence 39 of the spiritual hunger and thirst that we acknowledge can only be answered in the Presence of hwhy and by the impartation of His Spirit thus obtained.40 For the One who stated I Am

that I Am is the Living Elohim and the Fountain of Living Waters.41 The Mashiach teaches us that, in Him, we shall be continually satisfied with the rivers of Living Water that flow forth in the Spirit/Ruach. This blessing will come upon those who abide in His Presence, through prayer, and who meditate on His Torah:42 He that believes on Me, as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water. John 7:38

hwhy, He is the Elohim!

Recall (as seen above) the place value of I Am that I Am is 84:

= hyha rSa hyha = Ayeh asher Ayeh = I Am that I Am

I Am that I Am I Am that I Am

21 = (5) h + (10) y + (5) h + (1) a = I Am 42 = (20) r + (21) S + (1) a = that 21 = (5) h + (10) y + (5) h + (1) a = I Am ============ (pv) 84
When hwhy creates a thirst within us for the Presence of the Most High, and when the Spirit begins to satisfy that thirst with His love and power, then we begin to experience the fact that He is the Elohim, the One and only, and that He is far above all other gods. When the Spirit of hwhy moved with power in the ministry-service of the prophet Eliyahu/Elijah, the hearts of the people were turned back to hwhy as they experienced His mighty deeds: 30 And Eliyahu said to all the people, Come near to me; and all the people came near to him. And he repaired the altar of hwhy that was thrown down. 31 And Eliyahu took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Yaacov, to whom the word of hwhy came, saying, Yisrael shall be your name. 32 And with the stones he built an altar in the Name of hwhy; and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed. 33 And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid it on the wood. And he said, Fill four jars with water, and pour it on the burntoffering, and on the wood. 34 And he said, Do it the second time; and they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time; and they did it the third time. 35 And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water. 36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the

oblation, that Eliyahu the prophet came near, and said, hwhy, Elohay Abraham, of Yitschak, and of Yisrael, let it be known this day that You are Elohim in Yisrael, and that I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word. 37 Hear me, hwhy, hear me, that this people may know that You, hwhy, are Elohim, and that You have turned their heart back again.43 38 Then the fire of hwhy fell, and consumed the burnt offering, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. 39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said,

hwhy, He is the Elohim; hwhy, He is the Elohim.

1Kings 18:30-39 This day, the people of Yisrael had their heart turned back to the One who ever lives, as He made Himself known to them in a new and living way. This day, hwhy had shown Himself to exist in marvelous form as He prevailed over the false god, Baal, and his prophets of deceit. And once again, hwhy revealed Himself to Yisrael as I Am That I Amthe ever living Elohim. In Hebrew hwhy, He is the Elohim, looks like this:

Myhlah awh hwhy

the Elohim He (is) YHWH

And amazingly enough, the place value for this phrase exactly matches the place value for I Am That I Am:

= Myhlah awh hwhy = hwhy, He is the Elohim

26 = (5) h + (6) w + (5) h + (10) y = YHWH 12 = (1) a + (6) w + (5) h = He (is) 46 = (13) M + (10) y + (5) h + (12) l + (1) a + (5) h = the Elohim ========== 84
When hwhy first revealed Himself to Mosheh, it was in a bush that burned and was not consumed. When revealing Himself to Yisrael through Eliyahu on Mount Carmel, hwhy showed He was the Elohim who answers by fire. That both phrases have a place value of 84, however, is far from coincidence. The One who says I Am That I Am ever lives to save His people, Yisrael, and to draw them back to Himself! Blessed be His Name. There is simply no comparison between the false gods of paganism and the one True Elohim, the Elohim of Yisrael.

Malachi 4:5-6, Luke 1:16-17, Mark 9:11-13

I Am That I Am: The Fear of Isaac Of all the patriarchs, Yitschak/Isaac lived to be the oldest. While Abraham44 lived to be 175, Yaacov45 lived to be 147, and Yoseph46 lived to be 110, Yitschak47 lived to the age of 180. Because of this, we believe the life of Yitschak was characterized by a deep fear and reverence for the Most High Elohim. In Mishle/Proverbs we read: The reverence of hwhy adds days, But the years of the lawless will be shortened. Mishle/Proverbs 10:27 Those who walk in the reverence of hwhy do so because they are very much aware of Him as the Living Elohim, the Sovereign Creator who sees all and who knows all.48 Such was the life of Isaac: he knew the One who would later say to Mosheh, I Am That I Am. And because of the great reverence which Yitschak displayed toward the Most High, a title for hwhy was derived which lived on even after the patriarch had passed away. That title for hwhy was the Fear of Yitschak. And we see this title used in more than one place in the record of Scripture: Except the Elohim of my father, the Elohim of Abraham, and the Fear of Yitschak,49 had been with me, surely now you would have sent me away empty. Genesis 31:42 Yet we will see the Fear of Yitschak is a title directly connected to the Name of hwhy and His revelation to Mosheh: I Am That I Am. For the place value of the Fear of Yitschak is also 84, matching the place value of I Am That I Am as well as the place value of the phrase exclaimed by all Yisrael, hwhy, He is the Elohim:

= qxuy dxp = the Fear of Yitschak

Yitschak Fear (of)

(pv) 84 = (19) q + (8) x + (18) u + (10) y + (4) d + (8) x + (17) p The Fear of Yitschak and I Am That I Amboth are titles which bring great honor to haShem, the Name of hwhy, and both have an identical place value of 84. And it is those who walk in His fear that can authentically proclaim and show forth what Yisrael saw and declared of their Maker:

hwhy, He is the Elohim!

hwhy is the Head over All Things

David prayed to hwhy and exalted Him as the Head over all things: 11 Yours, hwhy, is the greatness, and might, and beauty, and victory, and majesty: nay, all in the heavens and in the earth, Yours, hwhy, is the Kingdom, who is exalted above all as Head (rosh); 12 and riches and honor are from before You; and You are ruling over all, and in Your hand are power and might; and it is in Your hand to give greatness and strength to any. 13 Now, therefore, our Elohim, we are giving thanks to You, and offering praise to Your beautiful Name. 1Chronicles 29:11-13 hwhy is exalted as the Head over all and apart from the Head nothing has life! He is the Living Elohim: He is the only One who can proclaim I Am that I Am (543); and the prophets pronounced of Him, Lives hwhy Tsebaot! (543) But the full value (fv) of Sar/rosh/head is also 543:

501 = (300) S + (1) a + (200) r = Sar = rosh = head (pv) 42 = (21) S + (1) a + (20) r = Sar = rosh = head ========== (fv) 543

There is life in His Name because hwhy is the Head/Source of all things. Apart from Him, then, there can be no life. And those who seek for fulfillment outside of the overwhelming reality of His awesome Presence will search in vain for a lifetime. He is the Living Elohim and we can only have life and wholeness if it is found in His Name/Presence. His Name is Great in Yisrael The Word of hwhy defines Yisrael as those who are pure in heart: Surely Elohim is good to Yisrael, to those who are pure in heart.50 Psalm 73:1 By the way, the above text is the first line of BOOK THREE of the Psalms, the third book of Tehillim and the one that corresponds to the Leviticus, the Third Book of the Torah. Of course, the priests were called to exemplify the purity of heart which hwhy desires to see in all of His people.51 Purity of heart is defined in relation to the Torah of hwhy: 6 And hwhy your Elohim will circumcise your heart, and the heart of your seed, to love hwhy your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your soul, that you may live .. 10 If you shall hearken to the voice of hwhy your Elohim, to keep His commandments
50

For similar thoughts on Yisrael being composed of those who are pure in heart, also see: John 1:47, Romans 2:28-29, Deuteronomy 10:16, 30:6, Isaiah 51:7-8 51 Malachi 2:4-7

and His statutes which are written in this book of the Torah, and if you shall turn to hwhy your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul. Deuteronomy 30:6,10 And even the Word of the Mashiach teaches likewise as He takes us back to the incident in which Yaacov saw Elohim from a heart that had been purified in seeking the Name of hwhy; it was at that time the patriarch saw His face and obtained the name of Yisrael: 52 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see Elohim. Matthew 5:8 And the Spirit reveals still more as we study the Hebrew misparim surrounding Tehillim 76:1. Most translations render Tehillim/Psalms 76:1 as follows: Elohim is known in Yahudah/Judah; His Name is great in Yisrael. Tehillim/Psalms 76:1 Whenever we can ponder a text in the original Hebrew, the Spirit of hwhy will often reveal still more of the wisdom and knowledge which are hidden in the Messiah.53 In the Hebrew, the above Scripture looks like this:

Known

Myhla
(is) Elohim

hdwhyb edwn
in Yahudah

in Yisrael

wms
(is) His Name

lwdg
great

larvyb

We pondered earlier how hwhy appeared to Mosheh on Mount Sinai in the burning bush. In Hebrew, Sinai ( see-nigh ) adds to 130:

130 = (10) y + (50) n + (10) y + (60) o = ynyo = Sinai

And at the time He first appeared to Mosheh, hwhy indicated the sign that He had truly sent the prophet was this: After Yisrael had been delivered from Egypt, he would return and serve Elohim on that same mountain: And He said, I come to be (hyha) with you; and this shall be a sign to you, that I have sent you: When you have brought forth the people out of Egypt, you will serve Elohim upon this mountain. Exodus 3:12

17

A significant part of Moshehs service involved being a mediator between hwhy and the people as the Most High established His covenanta covenant already made with Abraham, Yitschak, and Yaacov54with all Yisrael.55 So hwhy not only first made Himself known to Mosheh on/at Sinai, He further thundered the Ten Words at that same mountain to reveal Himself, to make Himself known, and to established His covenant with all Yisrael. We emphasize the significance of all this because hwhy does likewise: The Hebrew word for Known in Tehillim 76:1 is edwn (no-da).56 And in Tehillim 76:1, the Spirit reveals hwhy is especially taking us back to the revelation made to Mosheh at the burning bush. The Spirit shows us this is the case since, like Sinai (seen just above), this word for known also has a misparim value of 130:

130 = (70) e + (4) d + (6) w + (50) n = edwn = No-da = Known

As He revealed Himself to the nation at Sinai (130), Elohim became more greatly known (130) in Yahudah, and in all Yisrael.57 Yet through the numbers seen in Tehillim 76, we believe the Spirit is especially calling our attention to the very start of this process. We are being led to remember that special time when hwhy first appeared to Mosheh. We say this because of the next misparim value which the Spirit reveals. We note the misparim for Yisrael is 541:

541 = (30) l + (1) a + (200) r + (300) s + (10) y = larsy = Yisrael

Yet in numerous places in the Torah and Prophets the word Yisrael is seen with the BEIT preposition ( b ), in this case, meaning in:58

= larsyb = bYisrael = in Yisrael 543 = (30) l + (1) a + (200) r + (300) s + (10) y + (2) b
This must be one of the simplest, yet most awe-inspiring revelations of His greatness which we could ever be blessed to see! Not only does the word bYisrael (in Yisrael) have the precise misparim value as I Am that I Am (543), but upon turning to the Psalms, this word ( larsyb ) winds up being the very same Hebrew word as that which is seen in Tehillim 76:1:

Myhla
(is) Elohim

hdwhyb edwn
in Yahudah

Known

wms
(is) His Name

lwdg
great

larvyb
in Yisrael

So this would be the literal rendering of the text, taken directly from the Hebrew:
54 55

Genesis 15:18-21, 17:1-8, 19, Exodus 2:24, 6:4-8 Shemot/Exodus 19:1-8 and onward through the following chapters of the book. 56 We note that the first syllable of this word even sounds like our word for know. 57 Shemot/Exodus 34:32, Leviticus 26:46, 27:34, Nehemiah 9:13 58 The beit preposition can mean any of the following: in, by, with, from, against.

18

Known in Yahudah is Elohim; in Yisrael, great is His Name! Tehillim/Psalms 76:1 At that time in history, the start of hwhy making Himself more fully known (130) in Yisrael (543), was at Sinai (130) where He declared to Mosheh, I Am That I Am (543). How do we know those who are in Yisrael/ larvyb (543)? Those who are pure in heart will magnify His NameI Am That I Am (543), the Living Elohim and it is they who compose the nation of Yisrael. A Final Word The greatness of hwhy is simply beyond the explanation of any man. However, His Word and His Creation give us a significant indication of His infinite power and love. When hwhy revealed Himself to Mosheh (345), He said, I Am that I Am (543). This was His revelation of Himself as the Living Elohim, the One who had surely seen the affliction of His people and who was coming forth to deliver them. We give thanks to His Name for the many great things hwhy has done across the ages to reveal Himself and we commend our readers to the chesed/lovingkindness which He has promised across 1000 generations of those who fear Him and keep His commandments.59 His Name (543) is great in Yisrael (543)! Isaiah 55:1-2, Micah 3:11, 1Peter 5:2 We believe most copyrights have been abused worldwide in religious circles as false shepherds and other merchants feed on the sin of the people.
