Fatima Freeman April 18, 2013 WRD 104 To Torture or Not to Torture On September 11, 2001 a terrorist group

by the name of Al-Qaeda decided to rage a war against America by crashing a plane in to the Twin Towers in New York at 9:00 AM that killed innocent people because they were American. Because this crime was committed on American soil this would later lead to the arrest of many terrorist members and would lead to more innocent people been killed as well as more instabilities in their countries. While these detainees are prisoners under the United States of America for the crimes that they committed would cause a war to breakout between two separate countries that led to more deaths of innocent people in search for the members of these terrorist groups, Al-Qaeda and the Taliban, that operate in two different countries from each other. However, these terrorist members that were arrested are placed at Gautama Bay and now they are complaining of the treatments to be unfair and inhumane. For the 11 years that I served in the United States Army I endured the pain and the fear of been shipped out to Iraq or Afghanistan, but the worse pain I felt was the fact that children lose their lives as well as soldiers due to these terrorist that base their attacks on Jihad. To say that these detainees are been treated inhumane does deserve a little sympathy, but at the same time lets look at what these terrorist did that got them put in Gautama Bay. They attacked America. Now lets ask the question, do they deserve our sympathy? No, I think not, because

innocent people lost their lives not only in America, but in Iraq and Afghanistan. So again should I give these detainees sympathy? Well maybe I should consider the fact that I would not like been treated the way that the detainees are been treated, but then again I would never attack innocent people nor I would never watch my country become feel with chaos. Furthermore, I could never watch a child get harm because of my anger towards another country because I do not like what they stand for or they do not live by the Islamic way. Because of this chaos that terrorist has caused for what they call Jihad has caused more pain then joy. The pain that these terrorist have caused in their homelands of Iraq and Afghanistan is hard to imagine when we have America to call our home. Maybe that is why these detainees are looking for our sympathy, but it is very hard to sympathize with these terrorist because of the chaos they have caused. The problem isnt the fact that I am been a cold hearted bitch, but it is because I have seen too much violence that this so-called Jihad has caused over an 11 year span of terror towards America and the people that live in America. Then here recently a bombing happened at the Boston Marathon and more innocent people died as well as an 8 year old boy, Richard Martin, who ran out to hug his dad because he was running in the marathon. This is not just an angry rant about how we should kill everybody not American, but we should consider the thoughts of whom and what we should give our sympathy too.
