This karabiner or also known as a connector is Personal Protective Equipment and is designed for connecting two or more elements of equipment together. It can be used in climbing or mountaineering (EN 12275) or with personal fall protection systems such as fall arrest systems, work positioning systems, restraint systems or rescue systems (EN 362). It can also be used with other personal fall protection systems with suitable specications. For each application there is a specic karabiner: curved gate to clip in ropes; straight gate to clip xed anchors; security gate (screw and automatic) to protect falls with only one connector; VF for via ferrata... You must verify the suitability of this connector to use in your system with regard to applicable governmental regulations and other safety standards. The instructions for use of each item of your application used in conjunction with this connector must be respected. Forming part of a safety chain and security system, other components of the safety chain and security system must be also certicated with their respective European norm (for example harnesses: EN1227 or EN361; slings: EN566; etc.). An incompatible connection can affect the safety function of the system or another piece of equipment (for example, disconnection, breakage, etc.). A full body harness is the only acceptable body holding device that can be used in a fall arrest system. Installation. This connector works perfectly when the gate is closed and it is loaded on its major axis, any another position reduces its strength. Ensure the connector gate closure is always complete. The strength of this connector is reduced signicantly if used open or if it is loaded across its gate (minor axis). The karabiner must be able to move freely and without interference, any constraint or external pressure are dangerous. The connector strength can be also reduced if attached to unusual elements like large bars, wide webbing or straps, etc. All users should be trained and or competent, or under direct supervision of a trained and competent person. Only trained or experienced climbers are authorized to use this product. This information brochure may be a help to assure the correct application of this product, however only some of the many possible dangers are described here and therefore this brochure cannot replace the personal responsibility of the user. Check the condition of this product, looking for signs of any damage, before each use. Minimum breaking strength: Dyneema slings, Open slings and Express slings 22kN. Storage and Transport: Avoid direct exposure to electric res and/or sunlight, chemicals of a pH greater than 8.5 or less than 5.5 and temperatures over 50C, guard against damage from sharp objects. Cleaning: Wash in lukewarm water with a little mild soap, rinse through carefully and dry slowly in the shade. Accessories: Only use this product together with others designed and tested to the relevant standards. We recommend karabiners with a minimum diameter of 10 mm. Service life: Cannot be exactly calculated in advance, as a rule of thumb if this product has been used in a correct manner without abnormal damage or loading it should be retired from service after a maximum of 5 years.
