In our Torah portion this week we have the story of the 12 spies,and this date puts us in the mist towards the end of the three weeks of sorrow What is the three weeks of sorrow? Three weeks of sorrow starting on Tammuz 17th and ending on Tishah BAv 9th (Jun 24, 2013 through Jul 16, 2013) The rst day of three weeks starts on The Seventeenth of Tammuz (Hebrew: , Shiv'ah Asar b'Tammuz)it is a Jewish fast day commemorating the breach of the walls of Jerusalem before the destruction of the Second Temple. It falls on the 17th day of the Hebrew month of Tammuz and marks the beginning of the three-week mourning period leading up to Tisha B'Av. This day also commemorates the destruction of the Twin Tablets of the Ten Commandments. The Seventeenth of Tammuz occurs forty days after the Jewish holiday of Shavuot. Moses ascended Mount Sinai on Shavuot and remained there for forty days. The Children of Israel made the Golden Calf on the afternoon of the sixteenth of Tammuz when it seemed that Moses was not coming down when promised. Moses descended the next day (forty days by his count), saw that the Israelites were violating many of the laws he had received from Yah, and smashed the tablets. The month of Av is traditionally regarded as the most tragic in the Jewish calendar. lets look at the ve triages that has fallen on the 17th of Tammuz. 1. The tablets upon which the Ten Commandments were engraved, were broken by Moshe; 2. The continual daily sacrice, was discontinued; 3. The wall around the city of Jerusalem was breached; 4. Apostamus burnt the Torah scroll; 5. An idolatrous image was placed in the Holy Temple. lets look at how do we calculate the time for Moses breaking the stone tablets We know that the tablets of stone were broken on this day by simple mathematics. Moshe went up Mount Sinai, on the seventh of Sivan, the day after Yahweh spoke the "ten commandments":

Exodus 24:16 And the glory of Yahweh settled on Mount Sinai. For six days the cloud covered the mountain, and on the seventh day Yahweh called to Moshe from within the cloud. We also know that Moshe was up on the mountain for forty days and forty nights: Exodus 24:18 Then Moshe entered the cloud as he went on up the mountain. And he stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights. Sivan had thirty days that year, so we have 24 days of Sivan plus the rst 16 days of Tammuz. Moshe, therefore, came down from the mountain on Tammuz 17. When Moshe came down, he broke the two stone tablets: Exodus 32:19 When Moshe approached the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, his anger burned and he threw the tablets out of his hands, breaking them to pieces at the foot of the mountain. Aaron(rst high priest of Israel) died on the 1st of Av (num 33:38) Among observant jews the 9th of Tishah BAv is regarded as the saddest day of the year and marks the end of the three weeks. lets look at some events that has taken place on this date 1313 BC - The 12 spies Moses sent into the Promised Land returned with a bad report, causing the Nation of Israel to wander in the desert for 40 years. 586 BC - The First Temple built by King Solomon was destroyed. Israel was led into the Babylonian exile by Nebuchadnezzar. 70 AD - The 2nd Temple built by Ezra and Nehemiah was destroyed by the Romans on the 4th of August, 70 AD 132 AD -The Romans crushed Bar Kokhba's revolt and destroyed the city of Betar, killing over 100,000 Jews on July 8, 132 CE 133 AD - Following the Bar Kokhba revolt, Roman commander Turnus Rufus plowed the site of the Temple and the surrounding area in 133 CE 1096 AD - The First Crusade ofcially commenced on August 15, killing 1.2 million Jews in France and Germany. 1290 AD - The Jews were expelled from England on July 25, 1290. 1306 AD - The Jews were expelled from France on July 21, 1306. 1492 AD - The Jews were expelled from Spain on July 31, 1492 and launched the Spanish Inquisition. 1914 AD - World War I begins on the 1st of August with Germany declaring war on Russia. 1941 AD - SS commander Heinrich Himmler formally received approval from the Nazi Party for "The Final Solution". 50% of all Jews on earth were killed. 1942 AD - Deportation of Jews from the Warsaw Ghetto, en route to the Treblinka death camp begins.

A fast is called for on the 9th of Av and a day of morning on the gorgonian calendar that date is this Monday the 15th starting at sun set and ending on Tuesday the 16th and extending one hour after sun set Morning? Is this in some level an exercise in hypocrisy? How can we cry or morn for a place or nation so far removed from us by time and space? Yes we feel bad for the loss of the temples and the destruction of the peoples, the nation, we get that, but to cry, to mourn? you would cry and mourn for the death of a mother, father, child or even a close friend but for something that has happened long ago in the past? is this true mourning. To morn for the loss of someone or something we must have a connection to it or them. To morn for a nation? what is a nation? the dictionary denition is nation |nSHn| noun a large aggregate of people united by common descent, history, culture, or language, inhabiting a particular country or territory: leading industrialized nations. a North American Indian people or confederation of peoples. inhabiting a particular country or territory At 70 AD we see the the destruction of the 2nd temple on the 9th of Av. In this act was the dispersion of the nation of Israel the people being scattered to all the nations. A nation in exile. To morn for the nation of Israel we must feel the loss as our loss. To do that we must come to know that we are now part of the nation of Israel Gal 3:29 And if you are of Messiah (Christ's), then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Rom 11:17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them partakes of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Eph 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: Eph 2:19-20 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the emissaries and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner [stone];

Now lets think about this. we(( wild olive tree)note not a tare or thistle)) are grafted, afxed, joined, inserted, spliced.( the place in witch this is done is called a scion.) in among them( note that we dont replace them we join with the remaining branches) and so with them we partake of the root and fatness of the olive tree. Psa 52:8-9 But I [am] like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever. I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done [it]: and I will wait on thy name; for [it is] good before thy saints. Jhn 15:5 I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If you believe in Yeshua, you are Grafted In! all of the metaphors have us joining and becoming part of Israel NOT replacing it. It now stands to reason that since we are joined with Israel we are partakers of both the blessing and the curses . We are toRom 12:15-16 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. [Be] of the same mind one toward another Although Israel had her land removed from her she endured and now is in the process of rebuilding our nation. we can rejoice in this fact, but we are to stand in unity with Israel and morn when our brothers morn, for it is now our loss as well as theirs. Is there scriptural reason to keep this fast, besides joining with our brothers? Zechariah 7:1-7 In the fourth year of King Darius, the word of Yahweh came to Zechariah on the fourth day of the ninth month, the month of Kislev. The people of Bethel had sent Sharezer and Regem-Melech, together with their men, to entreat Yahweh By asking the priests of the house of Yahweh Almighty and the prophets, Should I mourn and fast in the fth month, as I have done for so many years? Then the word of Yahweh Almighty came to me: Ask all the people of the land and the priests, When you fasted and mourned in the fth and seventh months for the past seventy years, was it really for me that you fasted? And when you were eating and drinking, were you not just feasting for yourselves? Are these not the words Yahweh proclaimed through the earlier prophets when Jerusalem and its surrounding towns were at rest and prosperous, and the Negev and the western foothills were settled? We are not commanded to keep this fast, there is no Biblical record of who and how it got started. Zechariah 8 is a millennial prophetic chapter but in the 1000 year reign we have Yahweh declaring it a cheerful feast. Zec 8:19 Thus saith Yahweh of hosts; The fast of the fourth [month], and the fast of the fth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.

John 14:6 Yeshua said to him, I AM THE LIVING GOD, The Way and The Truth and The Life; no man comes to my Father but by me alone. Eph 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition [between us]; So now let me try to tie all this together, we have the sadist day of the year in a month that is called Father. Our Father allows this because he is THE FATHER of fathers.Alls fathers know that children when in extreme disobedience needs discipline. After the discipline it should bring about repentance . after repentance restoration then joyful union. Lets look at Eph 2:14 I want to give credit to Wild-branch ministry I was running out of time to put it in my own words Shaul is now going to use a familiar term in the Hebrew to describe what the Messiah has done in giving Himself for us in His death, burial, and resurrection. Yahshua's life is to restore what disobedience, rebellion and desires of the esh (doing things our own way) have corrupted. (Remember that this is how this chapter begins.) In the culture in which the scriptures were written, there are two kinds of walls that are being referred to as the 'middle wall of partition'. I believe that both are pictured here. The rst one is called the m'chitzah. This is the wall in the temple area that separated the Yehudim from the Gentiles. It is understood by some commentators that this wall was 'spiritually' removed, thereby allowing Gentiles to enter into the inner court. This same word, which means something that 'divides', is used in Ezekiel 37:22 in describing the union of the house of Israel and the house of Judah. "And I will make them ONE nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel, and ONE king shall be king to them ALL; and they shall be no more TWO nations, neither shall they be DIVIDED (chatzah) into TWO kingdoms any more at all." However factual this wall was, I believe that the two Greek words used in this verse, to describe this wall, is much older and more well known by the rich and the poor - the city slicker and the country folk. The Greek word used for the 'middle wall' is the word mesotoichon. This word is used in the Septuagint to translate the word tavek, which simply means, 'something in the midst of', or 'in the middle'. The Greek word used for the partition itself is phragmos. This word translates the Hebrew word gadar. This is where it begins to get interesting and a lot of dots get connected. The gadar is a wall, fence, fold, or sheepfold, but is not just any ole wall, fence, or hedge. It is used to describe the placement of a barrier to separate one thing from another and is the primary word used to describe the wall placed between sheepfolds. Here are a few examples of how this word is used by the culture that Shaul was raised in.

Amos 9:11 "In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and CLOSE UP the breaches of it; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old." Numbers 32:16 "And they came near unto him, and said, We will build SHEEPFOLDS here for our cattle, and cities for our little ones ... " Numbers 32:24 "Build you cities for your little ones, and FOLDS for your SHEEP; and do that which hath proceeded out of your mouth." zephaniah 2:6 "And the seacoast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and FOLDS for ocks." Hoshea 2:6-8 "Therefore, behold, I will hedge up thy way with thorns, and make a WALL that she shall not nd her paths. And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not nd them. Then shall she say, I will go and return to my rst husband; for then was it better with me than now." The prophetic verses in Hoshea just happens to follow the prophecy of the scattering of the two houses of Israel, and the foreknowledge of their history and destiny. Sheepfolds and shepherds are ancient, familiar subjects in most cultures. This is why I believe Shaul is using this as a reference so that all at that time would understand the prophecies he was referring to. The use of sheep, sheepfolds, and true and false shepherds are used quite liberally throughout both testaments to describe the true people of YHVH. When shepherds would enter the cities with their sheep, they would put them in special areas designed just for the various ocks. Each shepherd's sheep would be placed in a 'fold' and separated from the next shepherd's sheep by a wall. There was one door as an entrance to the sheepfolds. The shepherd would call for his sheep, and because his sheep recognized his voice, only his sheep would leave their fold and come out the door. The other sheep would not come because they would not recognize the voice of a 'stranger'. Listen to the words of Micah. Micah 2:12-13 "I will surely assemble, O Jacob, ALL of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of ISRAEL; I will put them together like the sheep of Bozrah, like the ock in the midst of their FOLD; they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men. The breaker is come up before them; they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it; and their king shall pass before them, and YHVH at the head of them." Now listen to the words of our Shepherd.

John 10:1-5,14-16 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, HE that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth in some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him; for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will ee from him; for they know not the voice of strangers ... I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. And OTHER SHEEP I have, that are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be ONE FOLD, and ONE SHEPHERD." The sheep have been separated by a wall. The 'other' sheep have been following strangers, i.e. other shepherds, but now, because of their desire to 'come out of Babylon' they 'know' His voice and follow the true shepherd. Most 'Christian' commentators agree that the 'other' sheep are the Gentiles. But it is much more awesome than that. These 'sheep' were foretold of their destiny in the writings and the prophets. Ezekiel 37:15-17,21,23-24 "The word of YHVH came again unto me, saying, Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick ('etz - tree, Romans 11), and write upon it, For Yehudah, and for the children of Israel, his companions; then take another stick, and write upon it, For Yoseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the HOUSE OF ISRAEL, his companions; And JOIN them one to another into one stick, and they shall become one in thine hand ... And say unto them, Thus saith YHVH Elohiym: Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the Gentiles, to which they are gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land ... Neither shall they dele themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions, but I will save them out of all their dwelling places, in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them; so shall they be MY PEOPLE, and I will be THEIR GOD. And David, my servant, shall be king over them, and they all shall have ONE SHEPHERD; they shall also walk in mine ordinances, and observe my statutes, and do them." Ezekiel 34:11-16 "For thus saith YHVH Elohiym: Behold, I, even I, will both search my SHEEP, and seek them out. As a SHEPHERD seeketh out his ock in the day that he is among his sheep that are SCATTERED, so will I SEEK out MY sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day. And I will bring them out from the peoples, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country. I will feed them in a good PASTURE, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their FOLD be; there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a rich pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel. I will seek that which was LOST, and bring again that which was driven away, and will BIND up that which is broken, and

will strengthen that which was sick, but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with justice."

Listen now to more of what the Messiah said concerning his rst coming. Matthew 10:6 "But go, rather, to the LOST SHEEP of the house of Israel." Luke 19:10 "For the Son of man is come to SEEK and to SAVE that which WAS LOST." John 10:9 "I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be SAVED, and shall go in and out, and nd PASTURE." The relationship between the removal of the walls that separated the sheep and the remarks of Yahshua the good shepherd are striking to say the least. The prophecies concerning the destiny of the two houses and the revelation of the New testament are more than just coincidence. Specically the house of Israel is to come forth from the Gentiles or the nations in which they have been scattered and mixed with. Acts 15:14 "Simeon hath declared how God rst did visit the Gentiles, to take OUT of them a PEOPLE for HIS NAME." Hoshea 1:10-12 "... and it shall come to pass that, in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the SONS OF THE LIVING GOD. Then shall the children of Yehudah and the children of Israel be gathered TOGETHER, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up OUT of the land; for great shall be the day of Jezreel. Say unto your brothers Ammi (you are my people); and to your sisters, Ruhamah (I will have mercy)." 1 Peter 2:9-10 "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a people of his own, that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you OUT of darkness into his marvelous light; Who in time past were not a people but are now the people of God; who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy." John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the CHILDREN OF GOD, even to them that believe on his name;"

The wall that has separated these two houses has been removed, just as the prophecies said it would. The removal of this wall, according to the prophets, would renew and restore the divided 'rstborn' son of God.
