Release Notes for Melco Control Panel Software Release 2001-10

Document Part Number 13348 Rev.G

Important!
This document contains information about Melco Control Panel Software, Release 2001-10. This information may not be included in the machine operation manual. Please read these release notes carefully before installing software on your machine. Thank You.

Dear Melco Customer,

If you own a Melco EMT 10/12T multi-head machine, DO NOT attempt to upgrade your current machine MCPS software with this version. This MCPS software upgrade is ONLY designated for the EMB 10/6T multi-head machine. You may have a newer version of software already installed, or you may need a hardware upgrade before you can install this software successfully (e.g. EMB 10/6T requires EPROMs with software version 1.2 for head nodes and 1.1 for bed node). This MCPS release consists of two (2) installation disks which include the following versions of the program and RSA files: MCPS program version 1.24 RSA (EMB 10/6T) version 1.23

To check which MCPS program and RSA versions are currently running on your machine, perform the following simple procedure: 1. In the MCPS Control Panel screen, click the Advanced button. 2. The Program Version and RSA version numbers are identified in the upper left area of the Advanced screen which is now showing.

Enhancements and Fixes With Release 2000-19:

1. Design Queue added to the Control panel. 2. Dual hoop and sash frame operations are enabled. 3. A spontanious error was appearing that stated Bed Node Not Responding at the end of a design. This has been corrected. 4. Machine is operable with less than 6 heads ON when a head with a defective jump stitch or takeup lever motor is turned OFF. 5. An error message is generated for an invalid color change encoder detection (see New Messages with this release, #108). 6. To prevent false error message reporting, fault detecting is now disabled when E-Stop function is engaged. 7. Backstitching that previously may have occurred outside some small lettering, now remains within the body of the letters. 8. To eliminate undesirable and unnecessary error message reporting while embroidering, the color change direction encoder is disabled during embroidery.

Enhancements and Fixes With Release 2000-50:

1. Added feature to check the size of data log file. If the file size exceeds 4MB a dialog will appear that suggests that the user purge old logfile records. A button is available to take the user directly to the Purge Record dialog. 2. Limited the statistic error message report to 3000 entries to prevent system crash. 3. Added "Save" button to the error report dialog. Allows user to save error messages to a text file. 4. Changed error query to eliminate non-critical errors and messages from the report. 5. Changed the maintenance step through dialogs to prevent user from inadvertently clicking outside the dialog and locking up the system. 6. Fixed maintenance timer problem. 7. Additional start data validation added to database record purging. 8. Fixed security problem that forced users to login twice if security was enabled. 9. Removed machine type configuration program, now now it sets automatically.
