All of the respondents believe that nurses be involved in making policy decision affecting their working conditions. Nurses may articulate what they want to happen in healthcare to make it more truly patient centered and to improve quality, access, and value. They may even have the evidence to support their conclusions. As with any worthy cause, however, they must engage in the policy-making process to ensure the changes they believe in are realized.1

Collaboration between nurses and physicians is linked to positive outcomes for patients. However, because the disciplines of medicine and nursing have different histories, political agendas, and forms of education that forge professional identities, values, and skills, these differences can be highlighted under conditions of stress. At these times, boundaries tend to be drawn regarding who owns what kinds of knowledge and who is responsible for specific kinds of work.2 To the statement Patient care is better with joint decision from both physicians and nurses., 92.3 % strongly agrees, while 7.7% (2) agree. Furthermore, 65.4% of the respondents strongly agree and 34.6% agree that physician and nurses should contribute to decisions regarding the hospital discharge of patients.
