Year One Old Testament

Lesson
Unit 1.1 Gods Word

Objective Aim
The Child will learn that the Bible is Gods Word to mankind and will learn to maneuver through the Bible. The Child Will Learn that the Bible Teaches God created the world, including all humans. The child will learn that God gave Adam and Eve unique qualities, unique from the rest of creation they were made in Gods image. The child will know that, because Adam and Eve sinned, all humans are separated from God and in need of His mercy. The child will know that God sent His Son jesus to pay the price for his/her sin.

Subjective Aim
The child will begin to have a LOVE for Gods Word and spend time regularly reading and studying it. That the child will begin to KNOW God and have a craving for Him and not the things He created. The child will begin to glorify God for his/her unique relationship with God.

Subjective Aim
Jesus, please help me become more aware of my need for Your mercy. Jesus, please help me trust You even when my friends make fun of me for obeying Him. Jesus, please help me when things get hard.

Objective Aim
Joshua and Rahab courageously trust God, God gives The Promised Land to those who have genuine faith in Him. Though Gideon is weak in his faith, and full of fear, God is strong. Samson was sinful, but God still used him for His own purpose. Ruth, an ordinary woman, plays a major role in Gods plan.

Subjective Aim
Jesus, please give me faith in You that I may have the courage to obey You. Jesus, please help me to trust you so I may have the courage to obey you. Jesus, please help me to obey You for your purpose, not my own.
