The Consular Section carries out the Embassys function to exend consular services to the public. It handles the following services:

passports services (new and renewal, travel documents for regular applicants who are not distressed or detained) visas notarial services and authentication civil registry functions dual citizenship correction of civil registration

Riyadh PE has initiated the use of its Facebook page to increase accessibility of consular advisories. Riyadh PE undertook more outreach consular services activities and to more distant areas. In 2012, Riyadh PE processed 53913 passports while Jeddah PCG processed 26209 passports or a total of 80,122.
For Riyadh PE, this represents an increase of 23% compared to 2011.

Extension of passports
The mechanism allowing the extension of the validity of green MRRPs for a fee of SR80 (20USD) has alleviated the emergency needs of Filipinos for a valid passport for their travel. In extending the validity of their passport, the Consular Section requires applicants to simultaneously apply for a new ePassport.

Appointment system for passports

In August 2011, the Embassy introduced an appointment system for applicants, through SMS and email. In November 2011, the Embassy stopped receiving SMS and email requests for appointments and switched to an online system that allows the applicant to choose a date and time for encoding of his e-Passport. The Consular Section allows walk-in applicants for lost passports, infants, and senior citizens.

CONSULAR OUTREACH
A very important feature of consular services is Embassy on Wheels or consular outreach service, which is conducted primarily to serve Filipino communities in major cities or urban centers under its jurisdiction, including Yemen. The personal appearance requirement for majority of the applicants for MRP and epassport issuances have made it paramount for the Embassy to continue with greater resolve, and further expand, its EOW program.
