God suggestion

Pan (Faunus roman name)


God of nature

Abstract
I know several god suggestion were already made for Pan, but its a unique character with a lot of potential. And I want to give it a try to make him unique. As with my Heimdallr suggestion, I will try to restrain myself from giving him hard CC or dash/jump. I also want to make him unique truly unique to make him the first dedicated jungler/roamer/assassin in Smite, which is magical. Because his lore is intertwined with Apollo he might have some synergy with him. I will use him to bring some new CC to Smite, which will be mainly sound focused. Any feedback is appreciated.

Goals:
Creating unique and fun character Only soft CC (no stuns, etc.) No jumps/dashes Magical ranged assassin/roamer/jungler (thats right) High skill ceiling Magical crits Respecting assassins kit (jungle skin, gapcloser, ult to make a fight 1v1, high damage ability/steroid) Match with his lore as good as possible. Introducing new (more soft) CC

Lore
The goat-god Aegipan was nurtured by Amalthea with the infant Zeus in Athens. In Zeus' battle with Gaia, Aegipan and Hermes stole back Zeus' "sinews" that Typhon had hidden away in the Corycian Cave.[13] Pan aided his foster-brother in the battle with the Titans by letting out a horrible screech and scattering them in terror. According to some traditions, Aegipan was the son of Pan, rather than his father. One of the famous myths of Pan involves the origin of his pan flute, fashioned from lengths of hollow reed. Syrinx was a lovely water-nymph of Arcadia, daughter of Landon, the river-god. As she was returning from the hunt one day, Pan met her. To escape from his importunities, the fair nymph ran away and didn't stop to hear his compliments. He pursued from Mount Lycaeum until she came to her sisters who immediately changed her into a reed. When the air blew through the reeds, it produced a plaintive melody. The god, still infatuated, took some of the reeds, because he could not identify which reed she became, and cut seven pieces (or according to some versions, nine), joined

them side by side in gradually decreasing lengths, and formed the musical instrument bearing the name of his beloved Syrinx. Henceforth Pan was seldom seen without it.

Appearance
Pans lower body and horns on his head are that of a goat, but he has an human upper body, which is mainly bare chested, besides some belts maybe. He also has nipples and a goatee (facial hair and nipples confirmed) . He also wield his famous pan flute the Syrinx, which he uses for most of his abilities and basic auto attacks.

Role|Class
Pantheon: Greek Role: Assassin /jungler (magical ranged) I know you might think this wouldnt work or would be completely broken, but he has to be fight with his panflute or bare fist (I prefer the first). However his range will be less like 30 (or even 25/20) ft instead of 55 ft. His basic attacks are also magical with a higher conversion than normal conversion (25% I believe is normal). All of his damage comes from his AAs and combined with his passive it can be quite bursty. Attack progression see his passive.

Abilities
Free penetration somewhere.

Passive: Natures tune


If you play Pan youll hear a Celtish rural forest song playing at the background and he has a kind of music score as his passive image. The song has to be easy, but not too repetitive so I think a 10 bar tune would be good. And will mainly consist of quarter notes and half notes with some eight and very rare 16th. Youll have to attack at the right moment based on the song and the musical score. The passive has 3 hit boxes: the first one if you play the tune completely wrong and you and everyone else will hear a bad note. Also the damage of that attack will get a 50(/33)% penalty modifier. If you hit the note decently on time youll hear a good note and have a normal 100% modifier. If you hit it almost precisely in time youll still hear the good note, but his attack will crit (150/200% modifier dont know what the modifier is for physical attacks). Therefore his real attack progression is like 0.1/0.1/0.1, but if you play Pan than holding the fire button will not auto attack. This is done so to make sure you cant spam AAs and to make it easier, because if you have to play a long not, then you actually can play a long note. Then theres still a very little minor problem with attack speed, possible things it could do: 1) Does nothing 2) Increases the speed of the song (this one is obvious, but I dont like a rushes song and may actually make his passive more difficult) 3) Makes the hit boxes slightly larger His passive basically gives him a variable attack progression and magical crits. Pan will definitely have, because of this passive a high skill floor and high skill ceiling. In the key in mastering Pan is learning his tool and having some musical rhythm. And if a good Pan attacks you, then youll they with a beautiful song. If you respect the attack progression in the song, then Im quite sure most will get at least decent notes and this makes crits not based on luck, but on skill.

Ability 1: Goat paws


Pan gains increased movement speed +20/25/30/35/40% is immune to knockups and knockbacks and it removes the attack speed penalty. (maybe even add something later on or making it easier to get crits for the duration (decent note count as crit for instance)) This gives him a gapcloser/escape tool to chase behind preys and gives him some sticking power. I also needs the attack speed penalty removed, because this allows him to focus on the rhythm of the music and get those crits instead of focusing on chasing. Duration: 6 seconds (between Chronos/ He Bo and Ao in) CD: 15

Ability 2: Sounds of nature, low cc, gap closer would be nice


Pan aided his foster-brother in the battle with the Titans by letting out a horrible screech and scattering them in terror. In the forest Pan was responsible for a lot of mysterious sounds herders heard and made them afraid. Pan plays a nature song on his pan flute and mutes the sound of the enemies (they only will hear animal sounds) and because they are afraid of the sounds they become confused and their movement controls are inverted. Its an self-casted ability. (I may add also no VGS communication during it) Radius: 30 ft radius (same as his AA and slightly bigger than Apollos mez) Duration: 0.5/1/1.5/2/2.5 seconds CD: 18/17/16/15/14 seconds
This (soft)CC is a good ability as an disrupt and CC also because of the confusion it will also be effective to hold them in their place. Its has a relatively large radius or cone. This skill allows him to kill his prey silently. The enemy can learn to counter this CC or just stand still and fight, because then the inverted movement does nothing (or even add inverted mouse, which could be nice)

Ability 3: Beauty of nature


Pan plays a song and every lane minion and minor jungle minions (non-buff holders) in the target area will be possessed. The target area is quite small just enough for an entire buff camp or melee or ranged minions. (Pan is known for his seduction talents) Brings minions to your control for 5 seconds (or alternatively till they die). This works on all minions, except jungle buff holders, Fire giant and gold fury. Possessed minions will follow you and attack anything you also attack with your basic AA. They have 100% health and protections (or could scale) as they normally would have, but their power scale with the level of the ability. Like 33/75/125/175/250 (making them not as dangerous as normal creeps, but also little bit more useful later) (they may not 100% get 10/20/30/40/50 % increased movement speed) This skill allows him to be an very effective jungler and has also the same purpose as lokis decoy. Making sure that when you gank you can get the minions under control. CD: 18 seconds

Ability 4: Syrinx beauty


Pans plays a beautiful tune on his pan flute and Syrinx the nympf transforms back at the target location (theres quite a delay and pan is rooted for a split second). Once the nympf is transformed back she will cast temptation in a big radius (size of Odin, Cupid, Hun Batz, etc. ult). Temptation draws enemies near a certain point (inverse of fear). Enemies which are in a very close circle to her will get hit and then she will transform back. (only enemies already catch very close will eventually get hit) Damage: 100/200/300/400/500 (+XXX%)

Duration: 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 CD: 90 seconds This skill is basically the same purpose as Hun Batz, Ne Zha, Baka works. To control temporary the fight and be able to make the fight 1v1 for a short period. And is most similar to Hun Batzs ult.

Conclusion
Unique No hard CC (in my opinion) on non ult abilities No jump/dashes Respect the assassin kit necessaries Magical ranged assassin Could be used as an effective jungler New (soft) CC types: Temptation, mute, confusion and possession
