Chapter Three
PROGRAM WORKPLACE RELATIONSHIP

Note the particular skills you used during the internship. These will no doubt include personal skills--your ability to present a persuasive argument, for instance--as well as technical skills, such as using desktop publishing software to design materials. Additionally, note how your college education enabled you to understand professional situations and facilitate problem solving. For instance, did the course you took in managerial communication help you write letters, prepare reports and documents for the organization you worked for? Or did the course you took in marketing help you prepare a marketing plan for the organization you worked for? In particular, tell us about classes at Kings College that were helpful in providing knowledge or skills that were useful to perform the job. Did you encounter situations where you felt disadvantaged on the job as a result of some weakness in your college preparation? In reference to work products, what contributions did you make? Be certain to include in the report appendix copies of any materials you prepared or helped prepare. Lastly, explain how compatible your actual internship situation was with the learning objectives that you originally established for yourself. Did you find that your original objectives needed revising to suit the reality of the actual on the-job situation or were your expectations fully realized during the internship? This section of the final report is important. If you do not offer a comprehensive assessment, the report may be returned to you for further attention. You should devote at least four pages to this section of the final report.

Guidelines:
Internship report is just an outcome, the main purpose is the internship itself and importance should be given to benefiting from the internship. Every day student should write what they observed and what they did and what they recommend in the internship notebook/internship log. This will stand as a guide to the internship supervisor both at the college and the organization to evaluate the report and avoid presentation biases. Post-internship interview with the supervisor will take place before internship reports are merited and the merit will be distributed as: Marks from the organizational supervisor: 25% Marks on the understanding tapped during the interview based on the report: 50% Marks for the report presentation: 25%

Internship reports should be precise rather than information dump. More Importance will be given to the takeouts and contributions than mere secondary information display. Number of pages will carry no merits as long as the things presented are understandable to the concerned.
