TCEs entry into the pulp and paper industry began with its association with the National Newsprint and Paper Mills Limited for their newsprint and paper plant expansion. TCE provided detailed architectural and structural design for the plant and construction supervision for all civil works. TCE also provided detailed design engineering, and construction supervision for the subsequent renovation, modernisation and expansion projects. TCE engineered the grassroot project for Bhadrachalam Paperboard Limited for manufacturing 40,000 TPA carton board / writing / printing paper. TCEs scope covered site selection to final commissioning. TCEs services were again availed, when the paper mill went for an expansion. When Tribeni Tissues Limited went in for the expansion of their Speciality Paper Mill from 6,000 TPA to 10,000 TPA, TCE was the preferred consultant. The scope of services provided by TCE included basic engineering to construction supervision and start-up and commissioning of the plant and offsite. TCE provided detailed design and engineering, inspection & expediting, construction supervision and commissioning assistance for Pudumjee Pulp and Paper Mills Limiteds Tissue Paper Machine and Deinking Plant.

For Hindustan Newsprint Limiteds 150 TPD deinking unit in the vicinity of their existing manufacturing facilities at Kottayam, Kerala, TCE tied-up for technology with Tessag KSH of Canada. TCE prepared enquiry specifications for the EPC contract and thereafter reviewed the drawings and documents prepared by the EPC contractor. TCE also provided construction supervision and commissioning assistance for this project. TCE provided miscellaneous engineering services for the west coast paper mills.
