WHS 4000 Series

JSATS Acoustic Node Receiver
Cost effective JSATS compatible

Increasingly, fisheries researchers are expressing the need to study smaller fish and the requirement for autonomous telemetry receiver/dataloggers that function in all aquatic environments. With advances in technology, acoustic fish transmitters are now available at less than gram and the associated submersible acoustic dataloggers operate for months between battery replacements. Lotek is pleased to add the JSATS compatible WHS 4000 autonomous datalogging acoustic node receiver to its WHS acoustic wireless hydrophone series. The WHS 4000 is an affordable, compact, highly

sensitive, lightweight, submersible datalogging receiver that enables deployment in a wide range of fisheries applications. Deployments include telemetry gates or sentries to monitor habitat utilization, migration, survival and fine scale 2D positioning. The WHS 4000 is an acoustic datalogger designed for use with JSATS AMT coded acoustic transmitters operating at 416.7KHz. WHS 4000 dataloggers can be deployed in stand alone projects or used to augment existing applications.

WHS 4000
Key Features
JSATS AMT compatible BPSK coding with sub-millisecond pulse and check sum for up to 65,536 unique IDs. Low cost, lightweight Energy efficient - only two (2) D-cell lithium batters last 100 days The key advantage of the JSATS system is that it allows researchers to utilize the smallest coded acoustic transmitters on the market. Currently JSATS AMT transmitters are 0.425 gram dry weight. JSATS AMT transmitters weighing 0.300 gram dry weight are also in the process of being developed. The Binary Phase-Shift Keying (BPSK) coding system allows up to 65,536 fish to be uniquely identified and tracked. The sub-millisecond pulse width reduces the probability of code collision. Host software is used to set time, date, gain and download data. Positioning software is available as an option to process data collected from multi-hydrophone arrays providing fine scale 2D fish tracks. As with all Lotek products, Application/field support and training services are available to assist project managers who may be unfamiliar with the technology, or are under tight schedules.
