English for Professionals

We focus on each client as an individual with a unique learning style and specific, definable communicative needs and wants. Experience tells us that clients bring their technical expertise and knowledge with them - the job of our teachers is to enable our learners to use that expertise and knowledge in English.
Jonathan Grubb, Platinum Course Director at St Giles Brighton

Before your Course

When you book a Platinum Course at St Giles, we will send you a pre-course questionnaire. This is designed to find out what you need and want from your time with us. We use this to design the programme for you. We adapt group courses to address the needs of all clients in the class, whilst one-to-one lessons will be tailored specifically for you.

During your Course

Our programmes are designed to meet a range of needs and objectives, but they will commonly include: Meetings communicate more effectively in meetings and workshops Negotiations developing language skills for selling, promotion and persuasion Presentations gaining confidence to present in internal and external situations Social Situations using the telephone, socialising, meeting and greeting, communicating at work Written Communication writing formal letters, emails and reports We can also cater for mature learners looking to take General English in a more focused and professional atmosphere. You will have the chance to discuss the programme with your trainer so you have input into its design and content. This is to ensure that you are meeting your objectives, whether linguistic or skills based.

We offer you three main course formats:

Platinum Plus Courses:

- Choose one of our Group Courses and combine it with 5 or more One-to-one lessons per week - Combine the dynamics of group training with specific one-to-one input sessions relating to your personal needs and objectives - Choose this programme if you are looking for an intensive course, tailored for your needs and with the chance to network with other professionals
