A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN May I say thank you firstly to Margaret and John for opening their home to hold committee meetings and the family reunion The reunion was an outstanding success. Our thanks go to all the people who made the effort to attend. Many came from long distances. Having the reunion at a private home gives it a real feeling of family We are still appealing for news items from family members. The wedding ceremony was at the Catholic Church, Gerringong and the reception was held at the Sebel Townhouse, Kiama.

The official photographer was Adams sister, Emily May. Emily May is currently at University doing an Honours Course in Magazine Photography is part of the course so it gave her an opportunity to get some work experience.

The wedding of Adam Yeo and Cherydn Knowles was celebrated on 24th March, 2012 Adam is the eldest son of Narelle and Paul Yeo, grandson of Wilma and Ron Yeo. Cherydn is the youngest daughter of Beverly Knowles of Tweed Heads. The happy couple were joined at the reception by family and friends from a wide range of areas. Adam and Cherydn are living at Cammeray. Adam is currently doing a hotel managers course. A feature of the wedding party was the early model Holden cars. Adam being a Holden fanatic was fortunate a fleet is available at Wollongong. The cars were beautifully presented and were admired by all.

John and Margaret Drew are pleased to announce ( belatedly) that their son Jason was married in February, to Trisha Matters. We also welcomed a new grandson, Tyge, who is six years old.

Daughter Emma runs a growing online business for hand made wooden toys and some very colourful clothing, mainly for children. Scarlette is modelling some of it in the next picture

The guest list was made up of immediate family and some of their close friends, A surprise guest was Trisha's sister, Belle, who flew in from London. It was a perfect day for the beach wedding, after a week of rain. The reception was a casual, but very enjoyable affair held at their home on the banks of Wallaga Lake. The fact that the members of Jay's old band reformed for the occasion to entertain the guests, added to the fun.

I was chatting to Clare Carussi today. It is raining as heavily in Woodburn as it is in Sydney. Let's hope that there are no floods. They are in reasonable health but Caruse has had a bad time lately with his knees. However, today he has been working hard shelling about 3 kg of macadamia nuts, and also some pecan nuts. Clare recently went to visit Rose Craig at the nursing home where she now resides. Tony is very busy with the rice. See pics above. Kathy Dolby had a birthday recently and enjoyed lunch with Clare, Denise Dolby and her friend Karen, who is holidaying at the farm for a couple of weeks. Margaret Drew

Greetings from the Great American Desert December 2011 TEXTING for Seniors Another year has gone-flown by like someone else was living it. Like the toilet paper roll, the closer you get to the nub the quicker it goes down the drain. All sorts of stuff has transpired; mostly for the good, so were blessed. A Fair amount happened this year including housework and weddings and travel etc, as follows: We saw all the west coast kids at Christmas time, went to Robbie Burns night in January, got a new stove and saw the Glenn Miller band in Feb. In March we began dickering with a local contractor for a remodel job; full kitchen rebuild plus new windows all around. We saw the Annapolis Womens Glee Club in a local church venue and got to talk to some of the girls becoming Ensigns in June. In April CO began work (with others) on a full scale replica of the Gadget nuclear device fired on 16 July 1945. It went on display at the Nuclear Museum in June. We also picked out cabinets, tile, backboards and granite for the new kitchen and it got measured and sketched out. On 14 May, Ellen and Franz Simon got legal in a full blown Pagan Handfasting in the woods just below Cedro Peak in the Manzano Mts. It was quite an affair, well attended, nicely catered, and very enjoyable. A man walked out to the street and caught a taxi just going by. He got into the taxi, and the cabbie said, "Perfect timing. You're just like Brian" Passenger: "Who?"

Cabbie: "Brian Sullivan. He's a guy who did everything right all the time. Like my coming along when you needed a cab, things happen like that to Brian Sullivan, every single time." Passenger: "There are always a few clouds over everybody." Cabbie: "Not Brian Sullivan. He was a terrific athlete. He could have won the Grand Slam at tennis. He could golf with the pros. He sang like an opera baritone and danced like a Broadway star and you should have heard him play the piano. He was an amazing guy." Passenger: "Sounds like he was something really special." Cabbie: "There's more. He had a memory like a computer. He remembered everybody's birthday. He knew all about wine, which foods to order and which fork to eat them with. He could fix anything; Not like me. I change a fuse, and the whole street blacks out. But Brian Sullivan, he could do everything right." Passenger: "Wow. Some guy then." Cabbie: "He always knew the quickest way to go in traffic and avoid traffic jams. Not like me, I always seem to get stuck in them. But Brian, he never made a mistake, and he really knew how to treat a woman and make her feel good. He would never answer her back even if she was in the wrong; and his clothing was always immaculate, shoes highly polished too. He was the perfect man! He never made a mistake. No one could ever measure up to Brian Sullivan." Passenger: "An amazing fellow. How did you meet him?" Cabbie: "Well, I never actually met Brian. He died but I'm married to his bloody widow."

FACEBOOK
The McCormack descendants now have their own Facebook page. At a family meeting we decided that a family FaceBook page may be a good way to keep in touch and let other family members know what we are doing. The committee decided electronic social media may be the way to attract more news and to this end, Joyce and Greg Hammerton set up the following page. My daughter Tegan turned 21 in March and we had a big party for her friends at her Church, a movie/musical theme and I was dressed as Mary Poppins. Photos are welcome, but please tag who they are. Cousin Scott Hunter has suggested a family weekend at his poperty near Oberon NSW in the warmer months.We can camp and have a bonfire, see wombats, kangaroos, and possums in the wild.
