TheLordsPrayerfeaturesprominentlyintheliturgical
and prayer life of the Churchwe never celebrate a
majorliturgywithoutprayingtheLordsPrayer,andit
features prominently in many of the popular spiritual
pracces that have existed down through the
centuries.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church provides a very

insighul commentary on the Lords Prayer (see
arcles 2759 to 2865), and one which I would highly
recommend reading through in a prayerful manner.
Given that Im not normally one to recommend

Australias Asylum Seekers Policy

At the risk of being accused of being polical (which I

The Australian Catholic Migrant and Refugee Oce

Australia's asylum seeker policies to be "inspired by
the centrality of human dignity and the obligaon to
care for our brothers and sisters who, in their

Faith and hope are inseparable in the hearts of many
migrants, who deeply desire a beer life and not
infrequently try to leave behind the hopelessness of
an unpromising future. During their journey many of
them are sustained by the deep trust that God never
abandonshischildren;thiscertaintymakesthepainof

even gives them the hope of eventually returning to
their country of origin. Faith and hope are oen

So that we might receive Communion in a t and
properway,pleasebeawareofthefollowing:

When we process forward to receive Communion,

we have been asked by the Australian Bishops to
adopt a common and unied gesture of reverence
before doing so. In Australia that gesture is a bow
of the head and shoulders (GIRM, 160). Any other
formofreverence,includingagenuecon,should

Communion by selfinncon (selfdipping) is
