Scope This Specification defines the mandatory requirements for a pre-fabricated, transportable building containing all necessary equipment to power and control an Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) system in crude oil service. The building will be installed outdoors in an offshore or onshore environment.

Oil-filled equipment (e.g. transformers, switches) shall not be installed inside the building. The specific equipment that is expected to be installed within the building shall be specified within the purchasing documents.

Service Conditions The building shall be designed to operate continuously under the following conditions: 6.1 Ambient air temperature: 6.1.1 6.1.2 6.1.3 6.2 Maximum: 45 degrees. Minimum: 0 degrees. Average (over one month): 45 degrees.

Construction Features 7.1 7.2 7.3 7.4 7.5 7.6 7.7 7.8 The building shall be fabricated, and all building equipment and services integrated at the building manufacturers site. Building dimensions and weight shall allow the building to be transported to, and installed at the site as one complete unit without field assembly. No windows shall be installed in the building exterior. When installed offshore, all exterior metal hardware shall be either stainless steel or hot-dip galvanized steel. Building exterior shall have a minimum two hour fire rating. Floor shall be constructed of 6.4mm (0.25 in) minimum thickness steel plate with a finish of non-skid paint. Outside building cladding shall be either non-metallic or pre-coated by the cladding manufacturer to be suitable for the site environment. Roof design shall not allow standing water or excessive accumulation of dust/dirt. Water drainage off roof shall be controlled away from cable/raceway entrances, personnel doors and equipment doors/panels. Building shall be insulated and vapor protected.

A minimum of two personnel doors shall be installed with the following characteristics: 7.10.1 7.10.2 7.10.3 Locations shall be based upon site conditions and to minimize the possibility of personnel being trapped inside the building. Doors shall open outwards. Industrial grade automatic door closures shall be installed. Door operation from inside shall be via panic hardware.

7.11

An equipment door or removable wall panel(s) shall be provided to allow installation or removal of all equipment (present and known future) inside the building. Location of door and/or panel shall be based upon site conditions. The support skid for the building shall be as follows: 7.12.1 7.12.2 Steel design shall be in accordance with the AISC requirements. If a corrosive environment, skid shall be hot-dip galvanized after the completion of the welding and drilling associated with the fabrication of the skid structure. It is acceptable to drill holes in the galvanized skid structure to attach small accessories (e.g., cable clamps) provided the bare metal is touched-up with zinc-rich paint. For a corrosive environment, stainless steel hardware shall be used for the assembly of the complete skid and for the attachment of any accessories. Welding shall be in accordance with AWS D1.1 requirements. A continuous fillet weld (not to exceed 3.2 mm (1/8 in)) shall be used to seal all adjoining members. Skid shall be designed to resist, without damage to associated equipment, all loads and stresses resulting from lifting and handling. Maximum deflection of the base during lifting and transporting shall not exceed L/240. Base shall be of the skid-type welded construction, rigidly braced with welded cross members and integral permanent provisions for multiple point lifting. Base shall be welded to the building fame. Jacking facilities shall be provided for base leveling. Two ground pads shall be welded to the base at diagonally-opposed corners. Each pad shall have drilled for connection of grounding lugs with inch bolt.

Hot-dip galvanized or stainless steel surfaces shall not be painted or coated. Where dissimilar metals are in contact, the contact points shall be suitably protected to prevent corrosion due to galvanic action.

Equipment Layout 8.1 8.2 8.3 Equipment access shall be provided per equipment manufacturers recommendations. Spacing shall allow equipment with hinged doors to have the door fully opened. Devices on the exterior of the equipment/compartment doors which require manual operation or viewing (e.g., switches, pushbuttons, displays, etc.) shall be mounted a maximum of 1700 mm from the interior floor.

HVAC System 9.1 Two, 100% redundant HVAC units shall be installed. Each 100% HVAC unit shall be completely independent (i.e., complete removal/failure of one unit will not affect the capability of the other unit to maintain the environmental requirements inside the building). Shall be industrial grade split condenser/evaporator type. Based upon the above Site Conditions each 100% HVAC system shall be designed to continuously maintain the following environment conditions inside the building: 9.3.1 9.3.2 9.4 Dry Bulb Temperature: 30C Relative Humidity: 50%.

Heat loading/Air-conditioning calculations shall assume all equipment (installed and known future) is operating at 100% capacity and also include 10% extra growth capacity. Shall be designed to maintain a positive pressure (0.25 inches of water gauge) inside the building after complete field installation and hook-up. A differential pressure switch shall be provided. This switch shall incorporate an electrical contact which will activate if the differential pressure between the outside and the inside of the building drops below a preset level. This contact will be connected at the site by the Buyer. The control system shall include an automatic alternator system to ensure both 100% units have equal operating time.

HVAC components shall not be installed on the roof of the building. All outdoor serviceable components shall be maintainable from grade level. For offshore applications, all HVAC components external to the building shall be suitable for long-term exposure to highly corrosive seawater mist. A thermostat shall be installed that shall be manually adjustable over the operating range. Main power consuming elements of the HVAC system (i.e., compressor, heater, etc.) shall operate on three phase power; either 208 V or 480 V.

Electrical Service 10.1 10.2 Building electrical installation shall comply with industry standard NFPA 70 (i.e., NEC) Buyer shall supply a 480V, 3 phase, 3 wire service to the building. This shall be field terminated to a building manufacturer provided three phase manually operated safety switch inside the building. Building supplier shall inform the Buyer of the amperage requirement of this service a maximum of four weeks after award of building order. Building shall have an electrical distribution system with the following characteristics: 10.3.1 A 480/208/120 V, 3 phase, 4 wire dry type distribution transformer shall be connected to the above safety switch. Minimum rating of the transformer shall be 100 kVA. This transformer shall be installed inside the building. The secondary of the transformer shall feed a 208/120 V, 3 phase, 4 wire distribution panel with the following characteristics: 10.3.2.1 10.3.2.2 10.3.2.3 10.3.2.4 10.3.2.5 Shall be sized to deliver the full kVA rating of the transformer. Branch circuits shall be resettable circuit breakers. Panel shall be a minimum size of 24 poles. The panel shall have a minimum of 10 spare pole spaces. Panelboard shall meet 16-SAMSS-518.

10.3.3

120V service receptacles shall be installed inside the building per the following: 10.3.3.1 10.3.3.2 10.3.3.3 10.3.3.4 Receptacles shall be specification grade duplex grounding receptacles of the NEMA 5-15R type. Receptacles shall be mounted on the wall surface at a nominal height of 1 meter above the interior floor. The number of receptacles shall allow a tool with a 6 meter cord, at any location in the building, to access a receptacle. A maximum of three receptacles shall be installed on a 15 A branch circuit.

If the HVAC operates at 480V, provision for separate isolation and circuit protection for each HVAC system shall be provided.

Grounding/Bonding 11.1 A minimum of one copper equipment/safety grounding bus shall be installed per the following: 11.1.1 11.1.2 11.1.3 11.1.4 11.1.5 11.2 Shall be installed on the interior wall approximately 300 mm above the floor and standing-off the wall surface. Each end of the bus shall be connected to a green insulated copper. Each conductor shall be terminated to diagonal corners of the building external steel base frame. Interior equipment grounding shall be terminated on this bus. The Buyer will field connect the site safety grounding network to the building base frame to complete the safety grounding system.

A minimum of one copper instrument grounding bus shall be installed per the following: 11.2.1 11.2.2 11.2.3 Shall be installed on the interior wall approximately 300 mm above the floor and standing-off the wall surface. Shall be installed on stand-off insulators. All instrumentation signal grounds for the internal equipment shall be terminated to this bus.

11.2.4

The Buyer will field connect this bus to an instrumentation grade, isolated ground network to complete the instrumentation grounding system.

Lighting 12.1 Fluorescent task lighting shall be installed per the following: 12.1.1 12.1.2 12.1.3 12.2 Provide a minimum of 500 lux on all horizontal and vertical work surfaces and the horizontal surface of floor. This lighting level shall be based upon a combined lamp lumen depreciation and luminaire dirt depreciation of 65%. Lighting shall be switched by a multiple-way switches located at each of the man-doors indicated above.

Emergency lighting shall be provided to allow a safe exit of personnel from the building in case of complete power loss to the building. This lighting shall provide a minimum of 100 lux, 760 mm above floor level.

Cable Entrance 13.1 All necessary entrances shall be provided for the Buyers field installed electrical/instrumentation systems (i.e., cables, conduits raceways, etc.), as per the following: 13.1.1 13.1.2 13.1.3 Shall enter/exit through the walls. The manufacturer shall request the Buyer to provide details of the Buyer installed cabling/raceways. Entrance design shall allow for the environmental sealing of the cable at the entrances, allow for ease of future cable installations and allow for maintaining the integrity of the fire integrity of the building.

13.2

Junction boxes mounted outside the building shall meet the following requirements: 13.2.1 Be equipped with either: 12.3.1.1 12.3.1.2 A breather and drain mechanism. For sheet metal enclosures, the above or a 5mm hole drilled in the bottom of the enclosure.

Be certified and labeled by a third-party certification organization as meeting the below NEMA or IP criteria. If installed in a corrosive environment: 12.3.3.1 12.3.3.2 Be NEMA 250 Type 4X or IP6X per IEC 60529 with X being a numeral between 4 and 8. Box material and external hardware such as fasteners (bolts, screws), hinges and locking devices shall be stainless steel.

13.2.4

If not installed in a corrosive environment: Be NEMA 250 Type 4 or IP6X per IEC 60529 with X being a numeral between 4 and 8.

Shipping Building shall be designed to be transported to, and installed at the site as one complete unit without requiring field assembly.
