The project has three modules, BPI, Reinsurance & Merica. BPI, being internal, data from source DB is loaded to staging & thereon to EDW (Enterprise Data Warehouse). Reinsurance has two phases. In the first phase, data received from various clients in the form of flat files, will be parsed & then meaningfully loaded into Reinsurance source database. In the second phase of

reinsurance, data from source will be loaded into EDW. HLR America has designed MERICA (Medical Risk Calculator) rules to provide immediate underwriting decisions on life and other selected coverage. The Merica Engine has been integrated with two front-end systems. The Data from both the systems is populated in Enterprise Data Warehouse after ETL process. The ultimate objective of this system is to bestow Underwriting Department, Marketing Department and Actuaries with the reports to analyze data, so as to help them in making tactical decisions. Multidimensional Cubes are built from the Decision Support System (Data Warehouse) and are used for further analysis and slice and dice. Reports are sourced from these cubes. My responsibilities in this project include: 1) Development of source to staging and staging to EDW ETL mappings using SQL Server Integration Services for MERICA. 2) Testing of Flat Files which were used as a source for Source to Staging Mappings. 3) Code Review of mappings from Source to Staging and Staging to Warehouse. 4) Defect Fixing on various functional levels. 5) Data Generation from testing point of view (flat file creation using GS Data Generator 2.4 Tool), 6) Unit Testing, Crash Testing, Integration Testing of Mappings. 7) Formatting the end reports created using Hyperion Web Analyzer. 8) Updating the Low Level Design Documents. 9) Creation of Reusable Component for HLR.
