METHODOLOGY

Harrison Hayes proposes to begin this engagement by conducting a project kickoff meeting with Sanofi Pasteurs key stakeholders and to conduct due diligence and review currently available information. The purpose of this meeting is to verify the scope of the assignment, answer questions, and review the timeline. During this project kickoff meeting, we will request the contact information of Sanofi Pasteurs internal Key Stakeholders who may be interviewed to better understand vaccine development and the culture of innovation within the company. Additionally, we will discuss the screening process of the Key Opinion Leaders and set up a framework for the Key Opinion Leader Study Guide/Questionnaire. Harrison Hayes actively engages our clients in collaborative, interactive dialogue throughout each and every engagement. We suggest weekly or bi-weekly meetings to review and assess the direction and progress of the engagement as a whole. As previously mentioned in this proposal, Perry Lewis will serve as the primary liaison throughout the course of the assignment. In order to best assess innovation practices within Sanofi Pasteur similar and non-similar companies, Harrison Hayes will utilize both primary and secondary research. Primary research will focus on the use of an internal Key Stakeholder assessment and qualitative Key Opinion Leader interviews. Secondary research will include the sourcing of information from publicly available information, syndicated materials, and past research that resides within Harrison Hayes. Effective utilization of these research techniques will provide Sanofi Pasteur with a complete understanding of the best practices in internal innovation and detail the necessary steps in implementing a successful innovation methodology moving forward. Each of these research methodologies is detailed in subsequent sections of this proposal.

PROJECT TIMELINE

PRIMARY RESEARCH
Primary research will begin with a surveying of Key Stakeholders within Sanofi Pasteur. Once the Key Stakeholders have been identified (or provided by the Sanofi Pasteur project team), Harrison Hayes will conduct topical interviews with each individual. The purpose of these internal interviews is to better understand Sanofi Pasteurs culture of innovation, current processes, and operational standpoint. All interviews will be conducted by a member of the Harrison Hayes Research team. These interviews will be conducted on an individual basis so that each Key Stakeholder will be able to provide unbiased feedback. Additionally, a proprietary panel of Key Opinion Leaders will be recruited specifically for Sanofi Pasteur. Harrison Hayes will begin this primary research module by identifying and recruiting the most applicable companies and individuals. Key Opinion Leaders for this project will come from a variety of industries and backgrounds. Harrison Hayes will recruit individuals with firsthand knowledge of the innovative, internal methodologies utilized at Sanofi Pasteur similar and nonsimilar companies. These individuals will be able to provide intimate feedback regarding the most notable key performance indicators, potential roadblocks, challenges, and hurdles in implementing a successful innovation methodology. Harrison Hayes will recruit all of the Key Opinion Leaders on a global scale. A sample of the recruited individuals may reside within the life science industry. We believe a blend of Key Opinion Leaders from various industries will provide a more holistic view of the best practices in innovation. Note: Examples of Key Opinion Leaders can be found in Table 1. Potential Key Opinion Leaders can be found in Table 2 Concurrently with the identification of Sanofi Pasteurs proprietary panel of Key Opinion Leaders, Harrison Hayes will construct a project specific Key Opinion Leader Study Guide/Questionnaire. This Study Guide/Questionnaire will be developed in a collaborative effort with Sanofi Pasteur and its stakeholders in order to ensure that the focus of this project is being properly addressed. The Key Opinion Leader Study Guide/Questionnaire is to be used as a platform for exploration and discussion with each individual. Note: Sample questions can be found in Table 3. Prior to the performance of any Key Opinion Leader interview, Sanofi Pasteur will approve both the Key Opinion Leader Study Guide/Questionnaire and the list of potential interviewees. As outlined previously, Harrison Hayes performs all project work in a collaborative process with our clients. This project collaboration with Sanofi Pasteur will ensure that the projects outcome is in line with Sanofi Pasteurs expectations.

Interview Process

Key Opinion Leaders for this project will be interviewed on an individual basis via conference call or in person. Prior to each interview, Harrison Hayes will provide Sanofi Pasteur with the name of the interviewee, background, and conference call instructions. A member of the Sanofi Pasteur project team may opt to audit any or all Key Opinion Leader interviews. Harrison Hayes will set-up an instant messaging service during each Key Opinion Leader interview so that there can be interaction between the Sanofi Pasteur team and the interview moderator. In the event that a Sanofi Pasteur team member is unable to audit a Key Opinion Leader interview, Harrison Hayes will record each interview and provide the recording to the Sanofi Pasteur project team in a timely manner upon completion of the interview. All interviews will be conducted by a member of the Harrison Hayes market research team who has the autonomy to probe deeper and maneuver through unique issues that arise during discussions with the Key Opinion Leaders what we refer to as improvisational interviewing. Our Research Team is able to select the most appropriate questions to ask each Key Opinion Leader due to our extensive knowledge and involvement with the projects goals and objectives. Improvisational interviewing yields valuable qualitative interview data unlike structured surveys. Instead of moving from question to question, our Research Team is able to adapt based on the responses of the Key Opinion Leaders. These Key Opinion Leader interviews will first be conducted on an individual basis, which allows us to focus on the expertise that each Key Opinion Leader possesses.

SECONDARY RESEARCH
To complement the information collected in conversations with internal innovation experts, Harrison Hayes will concurrently perform secondary research from publicly available information, syndicated materials, and our own proprietary, internal databases. Harrison Hayes believes secondary research, along with our partnership with the Sanofi Pasteur project team, will provide useful information related to implementing a successful internal innovation methodology. Secondary research will also provide a level of validation to the qualitative research collected from the Key Opinion Leader interviews. Secondary research used to supplement our primary research includes: Syndicated Materials Harrison Hayes has established relationships with a variety of syndicated information providers related to successful innovation practices. Publicly Available Harrison Hayes conducts significant market research within the public domain. We have expertise in identifying key market data through journal and trade publications, online subscription databases, market research data hubs, proprietary data sources and archival research. Internal One of Harrison Hayess key assets is the market research previously conducted that resides inhouse. Our ability to leverage this data significantly reduces the time constraints associated with providing the required deliverables.
