Cause

The 'path' statements, that are the 'values' for the following NetBackup Registry key, did not have quotation marks around the values that included spaces in the paths. The NetBackup Registry Key in question: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NetBackup Volume Manager\ImagePath =

Solution

Modified the HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NetBackup Volume Manager\ImagePath = Registry key by adding quotation marks to the path value (Ex: "D:\Program Files\Veritas\Volmgr\bin\vmd.exe") on the problem media server; and could then start the vmd service without further error.
