Henry Schein UK supports Marine Reach international health care mission

Gillingham, 31 July 2013 Henry Schein UK, subsidiary of US-based Henry Schein, Inc. (NASDAQ: HSIC), the worlds largest provider of health care products and services to officebased dental, medical and animal health practitioners, announced today that it supported Marine Reachs first international health care mission in Albania. The company donated medical and dental consumable products and dental units and also provided immediate maintenance support for the equipment. The Marine Reach outreach to Albania took place from the end of April until the end of June 2013. Locations of treatment were Elbasan and Durres. Focus of this mission was the dental and ophthalmologic treatment of patients in urgent need, but also health care education for the underserved population, as well as of local practitioners. Over 240 children, many orphans received dental treatments, over 270 teeth had to be extracted and more than 260 restored. The team dispensed 100 reading glasses and performed over 70 ophthalmic surgeries. During its first outreach, the team treated more than 1.000 patients and provided health education for more than 620 people. As a maritime short term relief organization in Europe, we are committed to bring health resources and programs to remote and underprivileged areas. Through partnering with the local health services, we aim to contribute towards development, said Esther Allbers, Marine Reach Clinic Leader from the United Kingdom. We are deeply grateful for Henry Scheins support at all levels of our first mission to Albania. Their product donation and immediate help when we were in need of maintenance support contributed a huge stake in the success of the mission. We intend to return to Albania once a year for the next four to five years.
