Synapticinterfacetechnologyhascomealongways,andwiththisprojectwehopetotakea giantleapforward.ThegoalforSIPhasbeentoallowuserstoconnectwiththeirdevicesand/or theInternetviathought.Imagine,ifyouwill,whatitwouldbeliketothinkwhatyouwanttoposton Facebook,andsuddenlyitsthere.Or,thinkaboutamessageyouwanttosend,andwhenyou reachedyourofficetheemailisalreadysittingonyourcomputeraddressedandreadytobe sent. SIPwillbeimplementedinthreedifferentstages: StageOne:IncreasedServerCapacity.Aserverfarmhasbeenestablishedinour headquarterswhichwouldprocessourusersthoughts.Thehopeisthatwewillhaveat leastenoughpowertoprocessthethoughtsofadozenormoretesters,andthenasthe productbecomesmorestablewewillbringonmoreserversinanticipationofaccessby thegeneralpublic.Status:Complete StageTwo:BuildasynapticTransmitterandreceiver.Aprototypeforthereceiver hasbeenimplemented,butwearecontinuingtodevelopthesynaptictransmitter.We hadatfirstenvisionedadevicethatmightbewornonthehead,similartoGooglesGlass prototype,butencounteredalotofproblems.Wehavesinceshiftedtotheconceptofa miniaturizedcapsulewhichtheuserwouldswallow.Thecapsulewouldthenrelease nanoscopicprobeswhichwouldtravelthroughthepersonsbloodstreamandattach themselvestothebrainstem.Status:Asofthistime,wehavecompletedoursecond roundoftrials.Weranintosomeproblemswiththenanoprobes,butImconfidentthat weveresolvedmostofthem.Wearecurrentlyintheprocessofplanningforroundthree.
