NEWEST OLDEST BEST WORST CONTROVERSIAL
[BRIEFING.COM] The major averages ended in mixed fashion as the Dow Jones added 0.1% and the S&P 500 shed 0.2%. The Dow outperformed the broader market as the relative strength of Universal Technologies (UTX 105.16, +3.05) provided the price-weighted index with enough support to keep it in positive territory throughout the session. In addition, DuPont (DD 57.12, -0.05) displayed early strength, but ended in the red. Both companies reported bottom-line beats on ... If Obamacare is for everyone, then the House and Senate should also be forced onto this plan just like their constituents. The legislators for the US do not have the people of the US in mind, only grinding out their own agenda. Mandatory health care should be mandatory for all. Let's start with Harry Reid and go from there. The minute this is mandated, I am sure you will see a turnaround in who votes for what plan. 1864 91 Replies (41)

I left Washington State, a place with high welfare and medicaid spending and moved to Indiana a state with low social service spending. I may not be a fan of my new state but I have seen an increase in the budget for education (key to getting out of welfare state) and lots of for hire signs. While the cuts to education and hours for my children (who are still in Seattle) in their minimum wage jobs have made the news in Washington. Taxes are lower in Indiana because people pay their own way. I raised my children to stay off the government dole. Both work minimum wage, too few hours to qualify for benefits and neither is on food stamps or welfare. No one is entitled to government support for doing nothing. 1466 138 Replies (20)

How do you think obama plans on paying for free healthcare for 30 million more illegals? They already get everything for free and have closed down many hospitals via bankruptcy. AMNESTY is such a great idea. And who better to implement it than a community organizer?

Monopolies are always bad. State monopolies are the WORST! It is interesting to hear liberals
demanding a monopoly for 'healthcare' Their vision is socialism. They want everyone to pay for healthcare, but fail to realize that we could just mandate that everyone buy insurance. But no, they have to have some people buy insurance that will not use it to PAY for those that are extreme risks. Sorry, but BUY your own, and don't pick my pocket to pay for it. Democrats always want someone else to pay for them. Thieves and scum.... They should be hanged... More 931 197 Replies (12)

Regal you are not comparing apples to apples. We paid extra taxes specifically for SS. This was to supplement our pensions or now IRA's. We were not given a choice we were forced to pay in so yes we are going to collect our benefits that we were forced to pay for. The affordable Healthcare act is totally different. It is basically a federal mandate that we buy something we may or may not be able to afford. And if you can't afford it I am forced to help you pay for it. That is socialism. 700 85 Replies (5)

every one is talking about costs, not one story directly linking the high health care costs to the true culprit the medical industry, hospitals, doctors unreal malpractice insurance fees, and the pharmaceutical companies with their non-curing but addictive overpriced drugs. come on most people out side of doctors and RNs are not even making a living wage, most of the costs are for the administrative and legal payouts 426 68 Replies (14)
