The development of psychology in the human species and the emergence of the ego and super ego

Imagine conversation as being the bass line for physiological function, if nothing else is distracting in this phase, and you are completely invested in the moment your mind is taking in information, processing it and then searching for a response (the response usually being molded by are personalities). Now imagine your ego as the thing that over analyzes the conversation you just had, but after the fact(or even during) (think of it as the manifestation of your thoughts) IE was I funny in that moment god I look terrible today Im doing nothing with my life right now. The manifestation of these thoughts can be viewed as the Ego. It is what we perceive to be us and is usually little more than a complacent worrying demon on our shoulder filling us with doubt and insecurities. Once we have identified our ego we can work on controlling and eliminating it from our own consciousness. Ergo having many positive beneficial physiological effects but this thought process can be watered down to I shouldnt judge myself. However there is another level of self-identifying mentally that happens when someone perceives and works to control their ego, by acknowledging you have an ego you hence forth give birth to another ego (above or below depending on how you want to think about it) the existing ego. It is the ego that thinks about the ego. We refer to this as the super ego. Perception of the super ego can most time be met with a stale mate of sorts ( I perceive the processes of my mind and can manipulate them but by doing so I create another level of manipulation) my recommendation for running into this wall is to focus back to the very first level of physiological function to live in the now (dogs are good at this). And so we come to the main point of discussion are these egos and super egos modern physiological inventions of human culture or have they been around since primordial times? History will tell us that a lot of physiological exploration was happening even in ancient Greece so one cannot assume this higher self-evaluation was just a recent invention. Instead I would like to propose the theory that through the emergence of society, humans as social creatures evolved mentally to develop such egos. For example in small aborigines tribes one would not assume to find the thought process of I need to better myself (It would be very interesting if you did and would be a great topic of exploration BUT) most of these physiological parameters I feel are ingrained in our society and are slowly imprinted upon us since our upbringing hence your parents had them and their parents had them. So one can assume the fault of all our insecurities can be traced back to the ethos of our culture. It is seen a lot in modern youth with social Medias like facebook, twitter, ect. The idea of sharing and being judges/ liked by your peers as some form of accomplishment we must obtain. EI why did Becky tag me in that photo I look so ugly. This leads into my next thought process is this societal ego evolution standard? If with the emergence of culture, dose one find the emergence of the ego? I cannot at current think of a way to run a test to explore this theory but believe is will provide some nourishing food for thought. So in closure dogs would make really good teachers.
