Our population is the highest its ever been, yet church attendance is declining. However, the rate of children being enrolled in sports is going through the roof! At Northside we use Upward Sports to promote the discovery of Jesus through an environment where children learn sportsmanship, teamwork, fundamentals, and rules of the game while gradually increasing the level of competition. Practices begin the week of September 23rd. Players will practice one night a week with games on Saturdays from October 5th-November 23rd. Sportsmens Banquet September 12 Northside Mens Ministry presents the 2013 Sportsmens Banquet on Thursday, September 12, at 6:30 pm in the Worship Center. AWANA-because kids are important to God One of the most important things we can help our kids do is hide Gods word in their hearts and learn to apply its truths. AWANA is that type of program that combines basic truths, scripture AUGUST 18, 2013 memory, and lots of fun to help shape a childs biblical world view. Will you give of your time on Wednesday nights from 6-8pm to help a child establish these foundational truths? It doesnt take a rocket scientist, it just takes willing hands and a servants heart. Silver Saints Singers Northsides Senior Adult Choir, The Silver Saints Singers, will have a sneak preview on Monday, August 26th from 9:45-11:00am in the choir room. Refreshments will be provided. Stop by and secure your tickets today! Greece Ministry Trip Please pray for the team that is currently in Greece. They are providing childcare, evening activities and a ladies event for our overseas workers while they meet to discuss work in their areas. It is also a time for the workers to relax and spend time together as a family and to be encouraged. Pray for safety, productive work, good health, and more importantly, for the times when worship of the one true God can be expressed freely. Northside Kids Sunday Nights Our Sunday night kids programing starts back on Sunday, Sept. 8th. We are upgrading our Mission program to Theres an App for That! We will offer different class topics apps and the children get to choose one each semester. Some courses we are offering this semester include: Princess with a Purpose, Bad Guys of the Bible and DivorceCare for Kids. More details coming soon! University Of Christian Training (UCT) Classes Are Beginning In September A variety of classes, covering important topics! Opportunities to learn to grow in your Christian walk, strengthen your faith, improve your marriage, and share your hope in Jesus Christ. Offered on several days at different times and locations. On Wednesday nights, 6-8:00 and Sunday nights, 5-7:00. Programming for children and students on these nights. Booklets of classes are available at the information desk. Have your kids join us as we kick off another awesome semester of fun in the Northside Kids Choir on September 8 at 5:00 pm!
