Garden Hotel, Kuantan, Pahang We are pleased to inform [you] that the Sustainable Production (SP) of the Biomass Industries in Malaysia: Optimising Economic Potential and Moving Towards Higher Value Chain (Biomass-SP) , a project funded by the European Union (EU) under the SWITCH-Asia Programme, and jointly promoted by Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MiGHT) , Association of Environmental Consultants and Companies (AECCOM) Malaysia , European Biomass Industry Association (EUBIA) and Danish Technological Institute (DTI) will be hosting the Information Briefing Session on 22 July 2010 at M.S. Garden Hotel, Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia. Biomass-SP aims to develop biomass small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia based on the principle of sustainable consumption and production (SCP) via the enhancement of supply chain and uptake of biomass utilisation projects by the Malaysian SMEs. At its core, the 4-year initiative strives to provide the following benefits to selected biomass SMEs: Complimentary training on the subjects including Biomass Technology for Uptaking by SMEs; a) Financing and Funding Opportunities for Biomass Commercialisation; b) EU Market Access Opportunities for Biomass Products; c) Concepts, Trends, Perspectives in Environmental Performance (Carbon Footprint); d) Optimising & Benchmarking the Economic Value of Biomass & Developing a Biomass Supply Chain; e) Success Stories of Biomass Conversion or SCP Projects, and etc. Complimentary service provided by Biomass-SP for biomass SMEs to undertake Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects. Complimentary technical service to measure carbon footprint reduction. Qualified existing biomass utilisation companies with export potential to Europe will get complimentary technical support for environmental management system (EMS) ISO 14001, etc. series certification. Complimentary coaching service for biomass commercialization project: Waste to Wealth, Lab to Market, Access to Funding Opportunities, etc. On behalf of the project, it is our pleasure to officially invite your organisation to nominate one (1) or two (2) representatives to attend the information briefing session. The target group of the project are SMEs who are involved in the biomass supply chain i.e. wood and fibre-based products manufacturing, eco-products manufacturing, pulp and paper industry, solid waste management solutions/service providers, renewable energy (RE) entrepreneurs, traders and suppliers of biomass, technology licensors and licensees for biomass, environmental engineers, commercialization entrepreneurs, etc.
