C Category -Infrastructure Sector Activity Description Drinking Water Projects

Beneficiaries / Attended by (No persons) LCL provided drinking water by tankers to 12 12 project project villages at 65 locations free of cost on daily villages basis. However, as there is scarcity of drinking water during the summer in the project area. LCL was interested in permanent solution. Hence, LCL supported Gram Panchayat of Mugaon and Dhamanohol villages to prepare a proposal to Gramin Pani Purvatha ani Swachata Vibhag, Maharashtra Shasan (Rural Water Distribution and Sanitation Department- Govt. of Maharashtra). where the State Government provides 90% financial assistance for this scheme and 10% popular contribution is paid by a Gram Panchayat. Bamboosa Workshop

Beneficiaries / Attended by (No persons) Bamboo was traditionally one of the main sources of 60 persons economy of the Mose Valley. There is sufficient availability of raw bamboo. In order to tap natural resources that is beneficial to environment as well, LCL decided to utilise the services of Konkan Bamboo and Cane Development Centre (KONBAC) to train local villagers to develop different bamboo products such as furniture and artifacts. Accordingly, LCL established Bamboosa, a workshop within the project area. It provides employment to 60 local villagers.
