Case Study Restoration files from Media to Server (Windows) This Case Study has been done on PR#25247962

raised by Virginia Tang (vt1812) as Quality Center Application required a File repository restoral with Netbackup as Client has accidentally deleted files from the filesystem. Objective : To restore files from Media to Server by using Netbackup. Example Scenario : Restoration files from Media ( In this case 2665SE and 1126SE ) to local Drive on client CASNDG1QCNTRA08 for restoration of files. Steps taken for Restoration on Master server: Step 1 : Login to master server shp012a select the Backup, Archive and Restore from the left Panel and also select Restore Files from right panel.

Step 2 : Select the proper Master Server and Client entries on which files needs to be restored: Select the client name from Source and destination client for restore:

Step 3: Select the proper backup period (Date Range) last Full backup date. Start Date.

End Date:

Step 5: Select backup history button it will give all successful backup as per date range. Select latest Full Backup and then click OK.

Step 6 : Now It will give the List of the files for the particular clients. Select the files for restore.

Step 7 : Click Preview Button it will show the media list which backup was used.

Step 8 : Verify the media available in Library through Media. Filter with particular Media. If Media is present in library then ready to restore and further process.

Start Restoration from Client : Step 9 :Login to client casndg1qcntra08.itservices.sbc.com through Remote Desktop Connections.Open Client Administration Console by clicking Backup, Archive and Restore

Step 10 : Select the latest Full backup date it will show the lists of the backed up backups.

Step 11: Select the files for restore.

Step 12 : Click start Restore of Marked Files:

Step 13: Select the location for restore and select Overwrite existing Files in Restore Options Click Start Restore Button.

Step 14: Restoration activity will start and window will pop up showing operation status:
