Museum is a place of education information and orientation.

They create a world where we get to experience everythinf present in the world. Museums throw light of our past and how r future is going to be. So on our visit to Mumbai we saw two of the best museum in Mumbai- 1) Nehru Science Centre. 2) Chhatrapati Shivaji Vastu Sanghralaya. Both of them are instituted uniquely.

Nehru Science Centre - Nehru Science Centre has more than 500 hands-on and interactive science exhibits on energy, sound, kinematics, mechanics, transport, etc. installed in the science park & different galleries. The NSC building with its unique architecture houses several permanent science expositions on various themes. Their main objective is To popularize science and technology in cities, urban and rural areas for the benefit of students and for the common man by organizing exhibitions, seminars, popular lectures, science camps and various other programs. To design, develop and fabricate science museum exhibits, demonstration equipment and scientific teaching aids for science education and popularization of science. They provide the following Facilities3d show, Odyssey, Auditorium, Conference Room, Exhibition Hall and a Library. This museum has 12 galleries which are Science for Children, Light and Sight, Sound and Hearing, Hall of Computing, Evolution, Human and Machine, Our Technology Heritage, Pre-historic Life, Hall of Nuclear Power, Hall of Aerospace, Children Science Park and Climate Change. The Ticketing Rate varies for indivisuals it Rs 25, for a Group it is Rs 20 and for students in a group who have authority letter it is Rs 10. All the galleries in this museum are colourful, pictureful and demonstrative in nature where all categories of people can understand. Very week they have a workshop of all the Exhibits present in the galleries where people can understand on- hand experiments. They have created a natural Park where science and its mediums are inculcated. So this this museum creates the atmosphere of fun and education.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Vastu Sanghralaya -Founded in the early 1900s, this Museum is one of the premier cultural institutions in the country. On the 14th August 1905, a number of prominent people of Bombay gathered at the Town Hall and resolved to erect a Memorial to the visit of the Prince of Wales (later King George V) in the form of a public Museum which, would be named after him. The meeting was attended by Sir Pherozeshah Mehta, Justice Badrudin Tyabji, Narotamdas Gokuldas, Justice Chandavarkar, Sasson J. David and many other dignitaries known for their outstanding contribution in their respective fields and also in the development of the island of Bombay. The Foundation Stone of the Museum was laid by the Prince of Wales on 11th November 1905 and the Museum was named Prince of Wales Museum of Western India. For a long time people had also felt the need for a good museum in the city and finally the museum was established by the public contribution aided by the then Government of the Bombay Presidency. Collection -The Museum has a representative collection of various forms of art from India and to a certain extent, Far-Eastern art, Nepal and Tibet. The Natural History section is a major attraction for children. Ancient Indian art is represented by the Stone Sculpture gallery with sculptures from Elephanta and other important sites especially from Western India. The Indian Miniature Painting collection represents one of the best collections of miniatures in the country. The Museum also has a magnificent collection of Decorative Art objects in jade, wood, ivory, metal and textiles. The Nepalese and Tibetan artefacts are ascribed to important religious and artistic phases of these regions. The Numismatic collection, acquired from various well-known hoards and also from individual collections, covers an entire range of important issues. The Museum houses an interesting collection of Chinese and Japanese porcelain, metal and ivory objects and embroidery. European oil paintings and Indian

arms and armour also form an important part of the collection. the museum is private museum funded by the Tatas it has the most beautiful collection of various mughal and European paintings. The display settings are simple and the information of various objects are descriptive. The recent Egyptian exhibition is amazing with fantastic 3d show. The museum itself looks royal and elegant in nature. This museum displays more of Art and Culture. so to conclude museums are centres of education, recreation and place to understand the past and the future.
