Council RE: AIT SC Elections for Ways and Means Councilor and Educational Research Councilor This memorandum is to disclose to the AIT body regarding the vacancy of two AIT SC Councilor positionsWays and Means and Educational Research. The following letters of previous councilors (letter of temporary absence by Laviet Joaquin and letter of resignation by Cristina Sanchez) are attached in this memorandum. This memorandum would also want to ask the consent of the AIT student body regarding the election of Officer-in-charge for Ways and Means position. An officer-in-charge will have his/her tenure for 1st semester only of this school year. However, if the previous Ways and Means Councilor will not be able to return on 2nd semester, the newly elected Ways and Means Councilor will fully take over the said position and responsibilities. Ballot Voting regarding this option will be conducted on August 23, 2013 at AIT lounge and shall be continued until August 25, 2013 through online survey. The Student Council is requesting for everyones cooperation regarding this matter because your opinions are important to us. We hereby open to all AIT students who are interested to serve the AIT student body the guidelines for the AIT SC re-election for the said positions. The following are the requirements that have to be met by the aspiring councilor/s: 1. Form 5 2. Letter of Intent 3. No failing mark on the 2nd semester of A.Y. 2012- 2013

4. Residency of at least 1 year The following are the dates to remember by the potential candidate/s: 1. Filing of candidacy is until August 30, 2013 (Friday). 2. Campaign period is September 2- 4, 2013. 3. Elections are September 5-6, 2013.

This memorandum is to inform you that I will not be able to fulfill my duties as a Ways and Means Councilor for this semester due to health related reasons. I have continued to do my job but because of the above-mentioned reason, I cannot attend meetings or school functions for the rest of the first semester. I had done my responsibilities as a councilor prior to this, as evidenced by the fact that I was responsible for the merchandise designs of Turismo Diliman.

I am thankful for the opportunity to be part of UP Asian Institute of Tourism Student Council. I hope to serve you all again next semester.

I tender my resignation as Ed Res Councillor of the AIT Student Council. I would like to say that it has been a pleasure to work with you. Thank you for the opportunities and personal development you have provided me over the past months. It was a great experience being a part of the AIT SC family. However, I had to make this decision because I know that I cant fulfil my responsibil ities anymore. My priorities changed after my son entered school. It was manageable at first, but time became the problem eventually. I needed to fetch him to school everyday right after my class at 4PM. Also I work for 8-10 hours a day to send not only my son but also myself to school. Because of these reasons, I cant attend the meetings and help in our activities anymore and I felt really bad about it. Its hard for me to sacrifice the council but I had to. I believe someone else whos suitable enough t o do the responsibilities of the EdRes Councillor will be able to fulfil the obligations that I wasnt able to do. I leave AIT SC with no animosity.
