3) ECONOMY CONTROL SWITCH

4) DC CIRCUIT PROTECTOR
The DC prctectcr tuns df automatically Wlen the load exceeds the
genEJatcr rated output.
CAtJTION:
Reduce the load to within specified generafl:x" rated ouIplA l the DC
prctectcr llrn df.
5) FUEL TANK CAP AIR VENT KNOB
The fuel tank is provided with an ar vent krdl to step fuel IbN. The ar
vent kncb must be tuned once cIockv.1se from the closed poslion. This v.iH
alow fuel to IbN to the catlreta and the engine to run.
Wlen the engine is not in use, tighten the ar vert kndJ counta-clockv.1se untl it
is finga--tight to step fuel IbN.

3. PRE-OPERATION CHECK
NOTE:
Add the fuel mere than 21lers fer the frst time to use this machne.
Pre-q>aation checks should be made each time the generata- is used.
1) CHECK ENGINE FUEL
Make SlJ'e there is sufficient fuel in the tank.
If fuel is IoN, refill Wth unleaded automoo.e gasoline.
Be SlJ'e to use the fuel fitter screen on the fuel fitter neck.
Recommended fuel: Unleaded gasoline.

Close fuel cock before refueling Wth fuel.

Wpe off spit fuel thoroughly before staiing engine.

2) CHECK ENGINE OIL
Make sure the engine oil is at the upper level ci the oil filler hole. Add oil as
necessay.
RemOJe oil filler and check the engne oil level.
If oil level is below the leMa' level line, refill v.ith suillble oil to l.pp6' level
line. Do not screN in the oil filler vtlen checking oil level.
Change oil if contaminated.

1) STARTING THE ENGINE
NOTE:) -------------

1. Open the fuel tank ar vent to the "OPEN" position.
2. T Lrn the fuel cock M" to the "ON" position.

5. Pull the stata- handle slcM+i unta resistanoe is felt. This is the
"Compressbn" point Rem the handle to ~ ~ i n a l position and pull
sv.4ftIy. Do nct fully pun out the rope. Alta- starting, aliclN the stcrta- hardle
to retrn to ~ aiginal positiorl Mile still holding the handle. the
ccnyng handle fimly to prevent the generab::r tom falling rNa- v.t1en
pulling the recoil stata-.
6. Wann up the engine.
7. T Lrn the choke leva- back to the operating position.
S. Warm up the engine Wthout a Iood fer a feN minutes.
2) USING ELECTRIC POWER
1. ACAPPUCATION
:a) Check the AC pilct lamp fer propEr voltage.

the generata-.
(d) InsErl the pulg(s) of the electrical appliance(s) into the receptacle.
CAUTION:
Be SLre the electric appcratus is lLrned off befa-e plugging in.
Be SLre the Iotalload is within generata- rated output
Be SLre the socket Iood CLIrent is within socket rated CLIrent
The economy control switch must be ILrned to "OW'....nen using electric
devices that requre a Icrge stcrting CLIrent such as a comrx-esscr a- a
sLtlmergble pump.
2. OVERLOAD INDICATOR UGHT
The overload indicator light comes on Wlen an overbad ci a connected
electrical devX;e is detected, the invErler overheats, a- the AC output
voltage rises. The electronic breaker will then activate, stopping f.lC'M'f to the
generation in a-der to rx-otect the generata- and any connected eIedric devces.
The output pilot light (green) will flcker and the ove1ood indCata- light will
ILrn on, then the engne will stq:> running. If so please folowthe foIloY.ing steps:
(a) Tun df any connected electric devices and stop the engine
(b) Reduce the total 'l\attage ci connected electric devices Wthin the
range.
(c) Check fa- blockages in the cooling ar IIlIet and around the control unit. If
any blockages are found, remove.
(d) After checkng, resta1 the engine
CAUTION:

The generata- AC output automatically resets Wlen the engine is stepped and then restated.
The overlood indicator light may come on fer a few seconds at frst v.ren using eIectrC devces that requre a lage
stcrting such as a comrx-essor a- a sLtlmergble pump. HCMeVer, this is not a maWunction.

3. DC APPUCATION (option)
This usage is CWiicable 10 1'N ballffy charging only.
(a) Ch2lging instn.'Ction fcr batt.ery
Disconnecl the leads fcr the battery.
Make the battery fluid fi ller cap Ioa;e fully.
Fill distilie:t ll\eler lo!r.e Lpper if the battery fluid is !oN level.
Measu-e the !:pCifK: fa" the battery fluid by using the hyctometer,
and calculale the chCJging time in acecrding Wth the table shoMl on right
side.
The specific fcr the fully chaged ballffy shall be 1.26 10
1.28. It is recommended to confllTll e;ery an hour.
(b) Connect bel\\eeIl the DC output socket and the battery termnals using
the chCJging leads. The !eads shall be connected making su-e of the (+)
and (-) polaity.
(c) The DC prctectcr is to be set 10 "ON" after confrming the
connection, if the protector is in "OW position.
CAUTION:
Be sure the economy control sWtch is turne::l off while charging the
battey.

3) STOPPING THE ENGINE
1. Turn off the power sWtch of the elech: cwaratus cr disconnect any
eIecbic deJices.
2. Turn the engine sv.itch to "OFP' position.
3. Turn the fuel cock lever to "0 FP'.
4. Turn the fuel tank ar vent knob counterclockv.ise to the "CLOSED"
position"

2) ENGINE OIL REPlACEMENT
1. Place the machine on a level sllface and v.enTI L4J the engine for sENeral
minutes. Then stqJ the engine and tum the fuel cock kndJ to "OFP".
T lTn the fuel tank air vent knob ckx:k>Mse.
2. Loosen the screw and remcve the cover.
3. Remove the oil fi ller
4. Place an oil pan under the engine. Tift the generatcr to ctain the oil
completely
5. Replace the generatcr on a latel sllface.
6. Add engine oil to the t.pper latel.
7. Install the oil filler CCll
8. Install the ccver and tighten the saeN
Recommended engile oil: (see page 15,

CAUTION:
Be st.re no faeign material enters the crankcase.
Do not til the generalcr ...men addilg engine oil. This could resutt in
overfilling and damage to the engine

3) AIRFILTER
Maintainilg an ar cleaner in prqJf condition is va)' important Drt inducai
ttrough imprcperty installed, imprcperty serviced, cr inadequate elements
damages and v.ecrs out engines. Keep the element aMays clean.
1. Remove the caver.
2. Remove the ar filler cover and element
3. Wash the element in sdvent and dy.
4. Oil the elerrient and squeeze out excess 01. The element should be wet but
not diJping.
5. Insert the element into the ar fitter.
6. Install the caver

and reinstall the spak plug.
3. Use the recoil stater to tun the engine CN6' several times (with ignition df).
4. pull the recoil starter until you feel compression.
5. StqJ pulling.
6. Clean extericr <i the gersata and apply a rust inhilb.
7. Stae the generatcr in a cry, place, v.ith the CCJ.M place CN6' it
