Professional summary:

ideas to revenues in the online and mobile space. This was accomplished through

Founding employee and Director Products: MangoSpring (December 2006 till May 2009)
MangoSpring is a multiproduct startup based out of Seattle and Pune; with products in consumer
and enterprise space. Was the founding employee for MangoSpring and established the India
operations including Engineering, product and HR functions and teams. Today MangoSpring is a
30 member strong team and I am part of the company management.

PurpleTrail – An online invitations service
• PurpleTrail was launched in the cluttered space of online invitations with a 10 year
incumbent having a monopoly and dozens of competing startups. Built meaningful
product differentiation and jumped to top 3 in terms of traffic in 6 months of launch.
• Executed a Search engine marketing driven approach (in-house) to ensure PurpleTrail
reached to hundred of thousand of users every month with no advertising expenses.
• Built a product strategy to create features that directly met customer needs, enabling us to
move from an ad-sponsored hard to monetize model to a more profitable subscription-
based model. All the incumbents offered free service up until then.
Eventuity – provides party plan management and ecommerce solutions for companies involved in
direct sales through home parties.
• Identified market need for party plan management system across home party sales
companies based on observing usage of consumer service PurpleTrail.com. Worked with
a prerelease customer to elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, site
visits, business process descriptions, use cases and Business analysis.
• Eventuity delivered an increase in party attendance, party bookings and online sales
along with huge productivity gain for our customers.
MangoSpring – Suite of chat products for websites and enterprise
• Helped conceptualize and design connected messaging service that offers seamless
experience across the web client, Desktop (Adobe AIR) and mobile (iPhone, Blackberry,

Product marketing manager: ThumbSpeed (acquired by Nokia) Nov 2005 to Nov 2006:
ThumbSpeed developed mobile clients for IM for Yahoo/MSN/AIM/Gtalk . Having joined a
1 year old startup which had just bagged its first customer (Cingular); my primary role was to
promote the company and its products to other large mobile operators across the world and
build future product strategy.
• The product was taken to multiple events including CTIA 2006, Forum Nokia Pro and
Mobile messaging conference by 160 characters London; where it won the best
application 2006 award.
• Built the future strategy for the company beyond IM clients and conceptualized and built
working prototypes for mobile photo blogging, Mobile Social networking and Mobile
address book clients.

Management Trainee: Tata TeleServices (June 2005 to November 2005)


Part of the product team for Pay Telephony business under Tata Indicom brand. Identified
research areas and engaged external Market Research agencies to run nation wide Qualitative
and Quantitative study. Convinced the division to invest in Conjoint analysis software and
carried out successful conjoint research in house.
