0 READING SKILLS SUMMARY Reading is a complex cognitive process of decoding symbols in order to construct or derive meaning that means of language acquisition of communication and of sharing information and ideas. There is growing evidence that it might be more appropriate to refer to the amount of time a learner takes to complete reading task rather than using qualitative labels, such as good, best or poor reader ( Smith, 1990 ). They were many reading problems among students. One of the reasons that these learners read more slowly is that they seem less able to identify the organization of a passage of text ( Wong and Wilson, 1984 ). Another problems is when some students especially special students, they have problems with visual discrimination. This will give them a problems when reading because all printed letters are set against a certain background, but when the background were not appropriate such as terms of colours, form, size and position. So, this will make them having problems in reading. The first thing that can overcome reading problems is direct intervention of parent or teacher or tutor in the comprehension process increases reading comprehension in slower readers ( Bos, 1982 ). So, in direct intervention teachers and parents especially needs to help them with vocabulary and ask themselves questions about what they are reading. Another in, one effective strategy for slower readers is to generate visual images of what is being read ( Carmine and Kinder, 1985 ). The teacher tell the slower reader to use visual images and has to describe the images that occur in their mind when reading a particular passage. This will give them a concrete sense of what visual imagery means. So, by using pictures, physical action, demonstrations can make the key vocabulary take root in the readers mind. Giving helpful reading material also can help them to improve reading. As is the case with most learners, slower readers learn most comfortably with materials that are written on their ability level ( Clark et al., 1984 ). So, the teacher needs to choose stories that do not have difficult words, short passages that deliver clear messages and helpful illustrations such as pictures.

So, another method that can improve reading is recording. The teachers need to find a stories and then make a recording of that stories by using a sort of media, such as Mp3 player and other things. The pronunciation must be clearly so that the student can hear all the words clearly. So, the recording must be played to the child all day so that they can understand the stories. After that, teacher asked the students to read the stories again on the stories book so that the reading skills can be improved. So, the conclusion is correct teaching method delivers excellent results even a severe language can by using the correct method and creating sufficiently stimulating environment. Another thing is, teachers and parents should appreciate childrens thinking as the foundation of their language abi lities, and maintain some flexibility in their expectations regarding their childrens development of decoding skills such as reading.
