6 Sept - 2 Nov Opening night 5 Sept, 6-8pm with screening of Man Of Aran at 8.30. Modern Languages presents the work of 5 artists & designers with varying relationships to Ireland. Coming from as far afield as Japan & Canada these artists offer new interpretations of Irish craft.
Retelling the myth of Europa, a Phoenician princess who was abducted by Zeus in the guise of a bull, this new play links Mediterranean and Celtic folklore in an international artistic collaboration which celebrates the contribution island communities from Greece to the Hebrides have made to civilisation. Opening night for Mull Theatres autumn tour! A delightful, funny and bittersweet tale by Michael Healey about a young actor who arrives on a small farm to research a role. He moves in with two middle aged farmers and finds himself embroiled in their complex histories as he uncovers a tragic past, riddled with secrecy, heartbreak and loss. At the age of 62, Karen Blixen, author of Out of Africa, met the 29- year-old and newly married poet, Thorkild Bjrnvig. They shared a powerful, dangerous and intimate friendship which fell apart after six years.
