Detectives with the Thomasville Police Departments Special Operations Unit have charged three High Point men with drug related offenses after a police vehicle chase into High Point. During the course of a narcotics investigation, undercover detectives had arranged for a delivery of heroin to be made in the area of Council Street and Culbreth Avenue. Detectives attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle, however, the vehicle fled. A chase ensued through Thomasville where the vehicle eventually led officers onto I-85 Business North toward High Point. High Point Police assisted in the chase as the vehicle continued onto North Main Street. The vehicle turned onto Centennial Street and then attempted to make a turn when it crashed into a chain-link fence at the intersection of Centennial Street and Grimes Avenue. The three occupants of the vehicle jumped out and attempted to flee on foot. Officers were able to apprehend all three suspects after a brief foot pursuit. One suspect was treated for minor injuries and released from Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center after complaining the vehicle he jumped out of ran over his leg. The vehicle, a 1998 Honda Accord, was seized under the Run and Youre Done law.
