Pola Positive S + V2 + Object + Time expression Negative S + did not + V1 + Object + Time expression Question Did+ S + V1 + Object + Time expression? Wh-Question + did + S + V1 + Object + Time expression? Contoh I cooked fried rice this morning. I didnt cook fried rice this morning.

Did you go to the library? What did you do last night?

Simple Past Tense


Simple Past Tense With Be Menggunakan was dan were.

Contoh
I was late this morning. The book was on the table yesterday. He was a policeman 20 years ago. I was not late this morning. The book was not on the table yesterday. He was not a policeman 20 years ago. Were you late this morning? Was the book on the table yesterday? Was he a policeman 20 years ago? Who was late this morning? Where was the book yesterday? What was he 20 years ago?

Negative S + was/were not + adj/adv/noun + time expression

Question Was/Were + S + adj/adv/noun + time expression? Wh-Question + was/were + S + adj + time expression?

Past Progressive Tense


Dipakai untuk menyatakan suatu kegiatan yang sedang

berlangsung pada waktu yang telah lewat. Tense ini biasanya tidak pernah berdiri sendiri. Akan tetapi, pada umumnya selalu dipakai bersama dengan Simple Past Tense dengan menggunakan kata hubung when. now

Some and Any


Some Countable dan uncountable nouns. Kalimat positif dan interogatif. Any Countable dan uncountable nouns. Kalimat negatif dan interogatif. E.g., I dont have any money in my wallet. She doesnt have any friends. Dalam kalimat interogatif menekankan bahwa yang ditanyakan adalah banyak.

E.g., I will buy some bags. You need to put some sugar. Do you have some salt?
Dalam kalimat interogatif menekankan bahwa hanya beberapa saja dan jawaban yang diharapkan adalah yes.

Contoh: Do you have some money? (I need some of yours)

Contoh: Do you have any money? (all)

Demonstrative
Ini : This + singular noun
This book is mine.

These + plural noun


These books are mine.

Itu That + singular noun


That book is mine.

Those + plural noun


Those books are mine.

Demonstrative
Adjective: menerangkan kata benda yang

mengikutinya.
This beach is empty during winter. These boys will help you to clean your house. That actor is handsome. Those chairs are made of wood.

Pronouns menggantikan kata benda. This is my brother, Tim and that is my sister, Jill. These are the old paintings, those are the old statues.

Adverb of Manner
Menerangkan bagaimana sebuah peristiwa terjadi dan

bagaimana seseorang melakukan sesuatu. Posisi adverb of manner adalah setelah kata kerja.
She runs fast

Apabila ada 2 buah objek dalam sebuah kalimat, maka

adverb of manner pada umumnya diletakkan di akhir kalimat.


My mother gave the book to me happily

Dalam bentuk passive, adverb of manner diletakkan

sebelum adjective.
This house is absolutely clean.
