Love requires action. This is once again the motto for this years Miami Valley LIFE CHAIN 2013. In the gospel, Jesus tells us that to be a Christian is to live and testify to faith in prayer, in works of charity, in the promotion of justice, in doing good. We are even to pray for our enemies. May we spend our lives loving Christ in all of our neighbors, especially those who have suffered the pains of abortion, those who are contemplating aborting their precious babies, and yes, even Dr. Martin Haskell. LIFE CHAIN provides an annual opportunity to show Christs love in a peaceful, prayerful, and legal way. It helps society understand that abortion is the willful killing of preborn Americans (approximately 55 million since 1973) and that the Church Christ founded is opposed to this. And, LIFE CHAIN is church-oriented and pastorfocused. As such, the key to a successful LIFE CHAIN is the support of local pastors in educating their congregations about abortion and leading them to the sidewalk where LIFE CHAIN is held. If you are a church contact, please talk to your Pastor about this event, and solicit their help in promoting it. Imagine many hundreds of fellow Miami Valley prolifers standing 15 feet apart on both sides of Ketterings East Stroop Road, holding 18 x 22 signs. These signs are simple yet powerful: Abortion Kills Children, Jesus Forgives and Heals, Adoption: the Loving Option, Lord Forgive Us and Our Nation, Abortion Hurts Women, Pray to End Abortion, and Life: The First Inalienable Right. LIFE CHAIN is always held the first Sunday in October and this year it will be October 6th, from 2 - 3:30pm. Miami Valley LIFE CHAIN prolifers will be joining hundreds of thousands of others all across the country and Canada in 1,700 similar LIFE CHAINs in over 1,500 cities. This years route will be the same as in the

past centered on Dr. Haskells abortion clinic, at the intersection of Vineyard and Stroop, and extending east and west on both sides of East Stroop Road.
I am enclosing several important items with this letter to assist you in preparing and organizing your church or organization for this years LIFE CHAIN. These items are also available on the website and you are free to copy each of them as much as you like: 1. Checklist. This checklist contains a list of tasks and when to do them for best results. 2. Church bulletin insert. Write your name & phone number on this insert before you distribute in your church. 3. Church bulletin board flier. Write your name & phone number at the bottom and post it throughout your church/organization to maximize visibility. 4. Sample pulpit announcement. Provide to your Pastor to read as is or tailor as necessary. Support from the pulpit will make the biggest difference in your churchs participation. 5. Participant signup sheet. Use this sheet to sign up your church members and call in your numbers on the date requested (see checklist). Make as many copies as necessary. Write your name & phone number on this sheet before you place it in your church.

Notes: a. If you are no longer your churchs LIFE CHAIN contact, please call or email me as soon as possible (hopefully with new contact information so I can send this information packet to them). b. In addition to praying for the babies, we also will be collecting baby items to benefit local pregnancy care centers and food items to benefit local food pantries. Please encourage your group to bring these items for collection immediately prior to the LIFE CHAIN event. c.
