Installation and Operational Guide

This instruction manual serves as a guide for the 4200 smart controller. IMPORTANT! Please read through all provided instructions and any listed warnings in regards to product use.

SAFETY REGULATIONS
The following provides all the information necessary to safely operate the previously listed products of Feniex Industries, Inc. Please read this manual thoroughly before installing or operating your new product in order to prevent any damage or injury. Failure to follow the listed instructions in the manual may result in damage to your product or personal injury. Proper installation of this product requires good knowledge of automotive systems, electronics and procedures. Please guarantee all vital components of the vehicle are not in danger of being damaged by drilling holes necessary for installation. Check all sides of the mounting surface before drilling any holes into the vehicle. Do not install this product in any way that interferes with the deployment of the air bag. Doing so may damage the effectiveness of the air bag and can lead to serious personal and vehicle injury. The installer will assume full responsibility of proper installation of the new unit. Please clean the mounting surface before installation of the unit when using tape, brackets, magnet, Velcro or suction cups. The product ground wire must be connected directly to the Negative (-) battery post for effective use of the unit. Please follow all wiring guidelines provided to guarantee long lifespan and productivity. Failing to follow these instructions may result in damage to the product.

Warranty

Feniex Industries, Inc. warrants to the original purchaser that the product shall be free from defects in material and workmanship for thirty-six (36) months from the date of purchase for all LED products. Feniex Industries warranties computer systems, horns, speakers and sirens and controllers for 24 months, while coverage for strobes, switches and flashers are for a 12 month term. If an extended warranty is added during time of purchase, the warranty coverage term will be 60 months for led products, 36 months for computer/hardware systems, horns, speakers and sirens and controllers, and 24 months for strobes, switches and flashers. If a defect occurs within this time period, Feniex will repair or replace malfunctioning parts free of charge. If a warranty problem occurs, please contact customer support at 1.800.615.8350 or visit the web site at www. Feniex.com. If the product needs to be returned for repair or replacement, call our customer support line to receive a return merchandise authorization number. Operational times will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. central time. Please do not send in product without contacting Feniex first for a RMA number and filling out the return form located at www.feniex.com under the About Us tab.

SERVICE AFTER EXPIRATION


Feniex Industries will still provide service for all products after expiration of the warranty. For any issues, call the customer support line. In some instances it may be necessary for the product to be shipped, freight prepaid and insured for loss or damage to Feniex headquarters.

WARRANTY LIMITATIONS
This warranty shall not apply if this product is a.) used with products not sold or licensed by Feniex Industries, Inc. (including, but not limited to, power supplies, radios, control devices, adapters and power converters); b.) is used for rental; c.) is modified or tampered with; d.) is damaged by negligence, accident, unreasonable use, or by other causes unrelated to defective materials or workmanship; or e.) has had the serial number altered, defaced or removed. Any applicable implied warranty, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are hereby limited in duration to the warranty periods described previously in this manual. In no event shall Feniex Industries be liable for consequential or incidental damages resulting from the breach of any implied or express warranties. This warranty is valid world wide.

Control Head Mounting


Follow the instructions when mounting the 4200 control head. Do not use any hardware other than the factory provided screws when securing the U-bracket to the control head.

Mounting
Step 1- Select a dry, cool location to mount the control head. Step 2- Remove the U-bracket from the controller by unscrewing the two factory provided screws located on either side of the U-bracket. Step 3 Decide which mounting option you would like to use. Option A is mounting vertically, allowing the controller to hang. Option B is surface mount, mounting from the rear. Step 4 - Mount the U-bracket in the desired location using two self-tapping screws. If you wish to use machine screws, simply drill out the required hole size based on the size of screw choice. Step 5 - Re-attach the control head to the U-bracket utilizing the factory provided screws. Step 6 Connect the CAT5 harness to the RJ port located on the rear of the controller.

Console Mount

If you would like to mount the control head to a console, follow the instruction below. Step 1 Follow steps 1 and 2 for Control Head Mounting Step 2 Refer to the manual included with your console for specific information on mounting the control head.

Power Supply Mounting & Installation


Follow the instructions below when mounting and installing the 4200 power supply. To avoid warranty concerns, refrain from mounting the power supply in a moist location.

Mounting
Step 1- Select a dry location to mount the power supply. Step 2- Mount the power supply in the desired location using 4 self-tapping screws. If you wish to use machine screws, simply drill out the required hole size based on the screw choice.

Wiring
Step 1- Locate the 8 Pin terminal blocks provided. Step 2- Insert the six blocks in their desired location. Press down firmly to insure connectivity. Step 3- Using a flat head screw driver, firmly secure the copper portion of each wire to its desired port. Make sure to follow the max current rating per output. Step 4- Firmly secure the Cat5 harness into the marked RJ45 port. Step 5- Apply power and ground to the 2 port Molex terminal block. Using a Phillips screw driver firmly clamp down on the copper portion of the wire. A poor connection may result in warranty concerns. Step 6- Ensure that each 30 amp fuse is not loose and is firmly connected. If a fuse is removed or blown an LED will illuminate indicating a replacement fuse is needed.

The USB port is used for control by a computer system. The software package will be available for download in 2014.

Control Head Programing


The software program is downloaded directly from Feniex.com It is found in the literature tab on the 4200 page. File size is 50MB so the download my take a while depending on your internet speed.

Help

For help on how to use the software please click the help button located on the top bar. You will find informative videos on how to program every function of the 4200 software system.

Bluetooth
The Feniex 4200 has the option of being controller via a smart phone or tablet. To enable this feature you will require the Feniex inline Bluetooth module. Follow the below installation instructions below to pair the 4200 with a smart phone or tablet. Step 1- Connect the RJ45 cable exiting the 4200 power supply to one end of the BT module. Connect the other end to the 4200 controller and follow the marking on the Bluetooth unit for proper connectivity. Step 2- Locate the push button switch. Step 3- Locate the pairing button on the software program screen. Step 4- Before clicking the pairing button, press and hold the switch located in step 2. Step 5- Click the pairing button on the software screen. Step 6- Release the switch located in step 2 once pairing is complete. (your device is now connected)
