Intended u s a g e T h e b u s s y s t e m s (CAN b u s a n d serial bus) are d e s i g n e d for c o n n e c ting individual E+L control c o m p o n e n t s a n d networking control loops.

Description Keep the a b o v e in a safe place, a c c e s s i b l e to personnel at all times.

Installation Run b u s lines a w a y from noisy or heavy current carrying c a b l e s (e.g. motor cables). P l e a s e e n s u r e w h e n running b u s lines that the insulation is not dam a g e d a n d lines correctly s e c u r e d a n d protected. T h e CAN b u s must not be longer than 160 m, the serial b u s 0.5 m.

3.2 CAN b u s o r g a n i s a t i o n

In order to distinguish b e t w e e n the different CAN bus c a r d s in a CAN b u s s y s t e m , e a c h CAN b u s card must h a v e its o w n a d d r e s s . Setting is via a DIP switch on all CAN b u s c a r d s . T h e a d d r e s s is specified in the block diagram (on s y s t e m s d e s i g n e d by E+L). T h e a d d r e s s consists of t w o parts: - the group n u m b e r from 0 to 7 - the device n u m b e r from 1 to F (hex) Example: A d d r e s s 0.5 A d d r e s s 2.5 || 0 = Grp no. 5 = device n u m b e r 2 = group n u m b e r 5 = device n u m b e r
