General OTM Information

Try to not be very campus specific.

Obviously you have to be for the most part but be conscious
not to use proper names or phrases that you know NCSU
people would understand but maybe people outside of the
university would not.

Make sure to correct all grammatical and spelling errors.

Make sure to check for all grammatical and spelling errors
and correct them. Once it is submitted we cannot change
any part of the nomination and it must be sent on to the
state and regional levels potentially forming an inaccurate
impression of the quality of the nominee.

Put the time into writing a nomination the nominee

deserves.
We know how busy people are and all of you want to give
recognition to the nominee so take the time to write a great
nomination that really says how great the person or
program is.

Make them interesting.

Real people, your peers read these OTMs. Make them fun,
conversational, but still professional. Don’t be afraid to
make them entertaining and informative at the same time.
The reader will appreciate it 

Short Description (max 400 words):

The annual Central Campus Tri-Towers Street Fair is an event featuring
carnival like food, activities, and fun that brings residents from all over

mainstream and features several ways for residents to get involved
and have an afternoon of fun and friendship.

Origin of Program (max 200 words):
This event began a few years ago. The Tri-Towers area has an annual
Fall Fest in the fall and a Street Fair in the spring. These two events are
very popular and allow residents to explore new ways to have fun,
meet and interact with RA staff and other residents, and engage in safe
practices. The event for the spring is a way to welcome the coming
spring and relax from school stress. The program means a lot to the
Central Campus staff and residents look forward to the events annually.

Goals of the Program (max 200 words):

Being a social program, the Street Fair is meant to allow residents to
engage in a fun interactive environment with their peers. Events such
as sand art, ty-dying, balloon games, pie-an-ra, along with the carnival
foods such as cotton candy and popcorn allow for a creative event that
residents enjoy. Other goals include creating a dynamic atmosphere
that brings a diverse group of residents from all over campus in. As
well, staff tries to encourage residents to try new things and explore
their options at events such as the Street Fair.

and staff look forward to every year. The program not only is a great
event, it leaves residents feeling happy and engaged and staff feeling
the program goals were achieved. The program brings together lots of
residents and allows them to participate in fun events, enjoy carnival
foods, listen to unique music, have fun, and bond with staff. The event
is a great success every year and residents feel the positive effects it
brings to the Central Campus community.

The Street Fair was a huge success this year. Activities from sand art
to music to carnival games had great turnouts and the food was all
enjoyed. Residents said that the event was “Awesome” and great
afternoon of fun. The staff was pleased with the turnout and felt the
program was another huge success.

How could this be adapted on other campuses (max 200 words)?
The carnival like program could be adapted on any campus in any
state. It is a great community builder and is rather easy to set up.
Arrangements can be made with any types of food employers and
games can be conducted by staff and can vary from sports to cards.
This program would be great to replicate on additional campus and

allow residents from all over different campuses to have fun at a
carnival.
