Case 17-1 - Campus Food System Summary of case Cindy Breen studying masters in food service management. She is currently an internship working with the Campus Food System (CFS). She was assigned to write a report on occupational accidents in the food service sector. During this time, she has discovered until 46 of violations of safety systems, among these many serious accidents. For example, Rick, serious poisoning leads to 3 months in the hospital, took a semester of study. Especially all accidents were not reported to the state. The implementation of the task becomes a moral issue when Jake - her supervisor asked her to ignore relevant information from its final report. She will have to choose to listen to your supervisor or write all what she felt. It will challenge the ethics of Cindy. Everyone knows that safety is the most important thing in any work environment. The most appropriate way to correct a safety problem report any incidents that may occur and honestly. However, Cindy is a internship, the intern score to evaluate surveillance by her supervisor own decision. So Cindy should go against his morals and ignore all the information? Or just declare a breakdown? Or she will send a full report with details of Jake asked her to do wrong? "What should Cindy do?" "What should Cindy do?" CFS is a small system located in State College Gulfport. It is always in danger of being taken over by a large contractor Marriott. Moreover, the president changed Gulfport. This information will affect to Gulfport State College chairman. When CFS has become risk takeover by a larger company, Jake Platt was trying to find a way to ensure that CFS is a good program operation. He required Cindy Breen help by creating a false report of an accident at work to ensure the CFS operation activities.

After researching this case, I think that Cindy is not necessary to prepare the report immediately. She should provide all the necessary information to change Campus food services (CFS) conducts business especially in the safety and health of their employees. Cindy should also start preparing the report the incidents took place at work and also include Jake required her about false report. It may be affect the practice of Cindy or the comments about the process. But, affected the health of workers and the workplace is more important than her problem (not necessarily happen). On the other hand, this will not be the only case that Cindy will meet in career management services of her food service management. If she does not make the determination, could constitute a wrong path for her work. And further, imagine, if she follow the instructions of Jake, how many accidents would be possible? How many students are affected by this incident? On the other hand, one of school staff, or one of the victims report the incident to OSHA, things are will be discovered. At that time, the Cindy also affected. I think that Cindy should list all the incidents that happened at that location in the past year transition to all state agencies and federal (OSHA). OSHA supports the stringent safety report ensure safety for reporter. OSHA will implement and test positions that will ultimately lead to a safer workplace. After an OSHA inspection of CFS will conduct additional training for all employees. Because, in this case many incidents/accidents occur due to negligence of staff. For example, employees on the cutter is cutting by other staff forgot to replace the knife for protection. Conclusion A safe workplace, safe and healthy is an important asset of any organization, a point that is underscored by the tremendously high costs of accidents and illnesses to both the employers and employees. The government has responded to this alarming problem by passing OSHA requirements for workplace safety. This is the fulcrum for managers and

workers to warn about unsafe issues within the organization. Discovered irregularities, though stood at any angle: the manager, the employee is even observers have also help improve the organization to create a safe and healthy environment. When there is any pressure from superiors , not for personal gain, let use the law to protect themselves. REFERENCES: 1. Ivancevich, J. M. (2010). Human resource management (11th ed.).
