Research Experience:

• Joined as summer trainee for 2 months in CCMB, Hyderabad under the guidance of
Dr. P.K.DE & worked on comparative studies on sex specific genes expressed in
different laboratory rodents. In my short tenure of 2 months, a comparison of sex-
differentially expressed proteins in the lacrimal gland, submandibular gland,
Harderian gland & urine of common rodent species were done using SDS-PAGE.
Western Blot analysis was performed to check expression of similar proteins in other
tissues. Basic molecular techniques were learned along with the ongoing work in the
lab.

• For past 1 year working as a project assistant in Indian Institute of Chemical

Biology (IICB), Kolkata under the guidance of Dr.A.K Giri .In the course of my
work I have been focusing on the molecular mechanisms of Arsenic toxicity in
individuals due to Arsenic contamination through drinking water. My work revolves
round SNP analysis using conventional PCR-RFLP-sequencing techniques, expression
levels of marker proteins using SDS-PAGE and Western Blot. Apart from this I have
been actively engaged in fieldwork for sample collection, handling of plasma, sera and
DNA samples.
