One of the hardest and faste s t eve r seen on the local court
was witnessed by a r ec ord i hen Harbor defeated ?etoskeys quint
27-23. Never has a Harbor team fought ha r de r then our toss er s.
They vve1e in the batt le f rom the O::?ening V!his tle until the last.
After trailing Petoskey for three quart ers t hey came back and rushed
Petoskey off their fe e t and won. Pe t oskey put up a hard f ight, but
could not cope with Earbor! s fast off ense a nd air ti gl1t defense.
Details of t he Game.
The game opens in whirlwi nd fa shion. Uenzell gets the tip off and
passe s to I4iller who a fiel d goal. He is fouled as he makes
his f ield goal and is allowed a throw wh ich he makes giving
Petoskey a three point l ed . A few minutes later Me nzell scor es a
field goal rom nearly the center of the f loor. Co r ne ll gr a bs the
next tipoff and passes to Stewart who scored a de uce, bringi ng the
Harbor crowd to its feet.. Afte r a scramble in mid-ccurt of
Petoskey dribbles through our defense and scores. At this moment Lane
who has been ill fo:c the l as t t wo vJ e oks , enters the game. This seems
to pep Harbor up. The quarte ends . Petoskey 7-Harbor 2.

i n earlier contests, while on t he otherhand Pellston was out f or
revenge and gave Harbor a hard fi ght all the vvay.. Harbor jumped int0
an early lead and held it throughout the gameM Harbor used a short
pass attack and worked the bal l down to Pellston=s basket nicely, only
t o miss many easJT shots . Harbor's cl efens e vms not up to stanclard.
Pellston use d a passing attack and at times si f ted through Harbor's
defense with ease, only to miss a short try at the baske t. Both teams
seemed to have left their cagi ng optics at horn e. For Harbor Cornell
wa s the star. Bob played a good game and his floor wo r k was outstand-
ing. Cornell also wa s sco ring ace with 5 f1eld goal and 3 f ree throws.
A total of 13 point s . St ewart, Harbor's cent er, a lso pl ayed a fine
floor game . Claude Allerding, Harb or guard, bedl ;r injured his foot
in the l ast half an d was f orced out of the game . We hope Allerding
will be able to play Friday ni ght. Lane, r egular fo r wa rd, did not
pl ay due to his recent illness. For Pellston the re wa s no individual

Speaks to High Sahool Assembly
On Wednesday afternoon, FebrQary 2 . the high school welcomed
Mr. Denbmore of Ann Arb or for gett ing t hem.out of the eighth
classes. Every wi n ue or thrs hour was enJoyed while he cracked JOkes
and told us of some of his hair-raising escapes . Densmore seemed
to be of many nationalities that par f icular day.
In the evening he gave a tall':: on "Your Boy and lfine." At the ver y
beginning- he let us ::now that he \-vas going to ex-press his thoughts as
he wished because it wa s a free lecture; we would get all that
was coming to us. He l a id great stress on the f a ct that visual educa -
tion is acnuired more readilv than anv other form . This po i nt wa s
brought oui by an inVolving the moving shows.
