For more information on the public hospital peer group classification, see Appendix 1. Number of hospitals reporting to the National Elective Surgery Waiting Times Data Collection. See Appendix 2 for further information. This is the number of separations with an Urgency of admission reported as Elective and a surgical procedure for public hospitals reporting to the National Elective Surgery Waiting Times Data Collection as a proportion of the number of separations with an Urgency of admission reported as Elective and a surgical procedure for all public hospitals. Number of admissions for elective surgery reported to the National Elective Surgery Waiting Times Data Collection. Includes data for hospitals not included in the specified hospital peer groups and some private hospitals contracted to do elective surgery. Crude rate based on the Australian estimated resident population as at 31 December of the period in question.
