Sean,
This year has really been a tough year but one that has
brought us so close as husband and wife. I knew when I almost
lost you to a heart attack in April that I couldnt live a day
without you.
I want you to know that I
love you so very much and
whatever mistakes we made
this last year, lets take them as
growing pains. I know neither
of us is perfect, but one thing I
know is we are perfect together.
I promise to not take any day
with you for granted and enjoy the
quality time because the quantity
is not promised to us.
Happy 1st Anniversary Sean Kaiser

MATTHEw 6 27-30: Which of you by taking thought can add one
cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider
the lilies of the feld, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they
spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was
not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass

he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Grace and Mercy

SPEAK OUT!!!
The Mount Morris Shopper feels that everyone has a right to be heard (or read, in this case) so we are offering this page each week
(space permitting) for our readers to share their ideas, views, feelings or whatever. Realizing that everyone cannot AFFORD to pay for
this privilege, the Mount Morris Shopper is offering this page as a FREE Public Service for articles or letters sent in for publication. All letters

Dear Speak Out,
As all of us, Ive had a very busy summer so am not up on
the County Home Nurse issue. But I do know this county has a
very nice, state of the art, new nursing home facility. The only
way it has income and gets paid for is by being full of residents/
patients occupying it.
August 25th Speak Out by Barbara Dennehy said a lot. Please
keep our two viewpoints in mind.
Respectfully submitted

Dear Speak Out,
Id like to raise awareness to the residents of West Sparta
about the Christian Camp on Schmidt Road. First you should
know that the entire piece of property (48.7 acres) is property tax
exempt (town, school & county), and the owner lives on the prop-
erty. State guidelines (information I received from Senator Cathy
Young, sent to me and the Town Supervisor) say that, at the very
least, they should at least be paying partial residential property
tax.
While we did not have the same Town Supervisor that we have
now, this property was removed from the tax rolls about 10 years
ago by the previous owners under false pretenses. Unbeknownst
to the Towns Offcials, even though building permits were issued,
the owners also operated a camp with no Special Use Permit. No
one EVER questioned the use of the HUGE turtle shaped building
that was constructed at that time! Obviously a gross lack of com-
munications between town offcials.
We, as residents, were not aware of the circumstances at that
time. It was never corrected even after it was brought to their at-
tention after Emergency Crews were summoned to an accident
at the property. When the property was sold, the Town of West
Sparta had an opportunity to correct the problem, and did not
seize the opportunity!
There was a public hearing for a Temporary (One-year) Special
Use Permit over a year ago to run this camp, with several stipula-
tions put in place. After one year, there was SUPPOSED to be
another public hearing and a review before a Special Use Per-
mit was to be granted and/or continued. NEITHER of these has
taken place. The camp continues to grow adding retreats to
their calendar, advertising & renting their property/facilities to non-
religious groups and individuals, and continue building of MORE
buildings/cabins again, a violation to the Temporary Special
Use Permit agreement. All of this has increased traffc to our road
and noise to our otherwise quiet neighborhood!
Not only is this entire piece of property tax exempt, the busi-
ness brings NO revenue to our town whatsoever!
How do they continue to get building permits? Good Question!
The lack of communication between town offcials seems to con-
tinue or lack of interest in the situation.
If you are a resident of West Sparta, I ask you to show sup-
port for those of us living on the same road as this camp. And,
as a tax paying resident of the TOWN & COUNTY, I ask that you
question the legitimacy of the tax exemption of this property. We
should be working towards ADDING property to the tax rolls, not
removing it.

Dear Speak Out,
I would like to apologize to the many loyal customers who have
purchased Cardune sandwiches from me at the annual Italian
Festivals over the past 8 years. As you are now aware I was not
able to participate in this years festival although I had fully in-
tended to do so.
Over the past 8 years as a result of our sales at the Italian Fes-
tival we have donated over $3500 to the BOCES Migrant Center.
For the past 2 years Mr. John McCart allowed me to use a corner
of his booth to sell the cardune sandwiches in front of his place
of business.
However, with the recent untimely death of Mr. McCart, I was
without a booth. And it was too late to rent another one since they
were all sold out.
Once again I apologize to those who were looking forward to
this Italian delicacy and hopefully I will be able to continue this
fundraising for the Migrant Center next year and the years to
come.
Sincerely Yours,
Lou Lombardo

ATTENTION SENIOR HOMEOWNERS
USDA Rural Development has funds available to help
repair homes in rural New York through the Rural Hous-
ing Service (RHS) Section 504 Loan & Grant Home
Repair Program. A 1% interest rate for a maximum
term of 20 years may allow eligible homeowners the
opportunity to make home improvements that improve
reliability, safety and energy effciency of their homes.
To be eligible for home repair loans, an applicant must
have the ability to repay the loan, an acceptable credit
history and an income that falls within the very-low in-
come category for the size of their household. Grants
are available to senior rural home owners age 62 or
older who cannot afford a loan, and funds must be used
to remove health & safety hazards or make a home
more handicap accessible. To see if you meet the in-
come and property eligibility, please visit HYPERLINK

Car Club Does More Than
Show Classic Cars
Abuse (CASA) during prom time in county high schools. After
a screening in which students demonstrate commitment, the
owner of one of the beautiful classic cars will drive them to the
prom.
Some members race their cars, competing at the Leicester
Speedway. Thats right, racing!
Dont those beautiful cars get all marked up, Im thinking?
By Tony DImperio
We were a bunch of guys who like classic cars sitting
around, brainstorming about what to name our newly formed
car club; we settled on Good Ol Boys, said club president
Jim DiSalvo, Mount Morris native and resident
That was 17 years ago, and since then, theyve sponsored
a car show thats grown bigger each year.
Besides their love of cars, the group is very generous,
donating a portion of the proceeds from each show to some
worthy causes. This year, contributions went to Teresa House
and Mercy Flight. Also, packages will be sent at Christmas-
time to military personnel who serve overseas.
Their good works dont stop here. Often, a member will take
a nursing home resident for a ride. The classic car gives a
comforting, nostalgic feeling to the older folks who usually
remember the vehicles back in the day.
The group also collab-
orates with the Livings-
ton County Council on
Alcohol and Substance
17 categories. The
crowd was large.

Cystic Fibrosis is the #1, fatal, genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive systems
of over 30,000 children and adults in the U.S. It is estimated that more than 10 million Americans
are symptom-less carriers of the defective CF gene. In 1955 when the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
(CFF) was established, most CF patients did not live long enough to attend Kindergarten. Now,
thanks to the Foundation, funding and research, many are living well into adulthood!
Cousins Anthony Bailey and Jackson Fanaro were both born with this incurable disease.
Because CF mainly affects the respiratory & digestive system, simple things such as breathing and
absorbing nutrition become more difcult with each passing year. Both boys spend much of their
time each day taking medications and doing treatments in order to improve their quality of life.
Research & care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference
in extending the lives of those with CF, however we continue to lose precious lives every day. That
is why we are asking for your help!
Please join us in the annual Cystic Fibrosis Foundations GREAT STRIDES Walk for a Cure
on Sunday September 22, 2013 at 10 AM (registration at 9 AM), held in beautiful Letchworth
State Park. GREAT STRIDES is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundations largest and most successful national
fund-raising event, with plenty of food, prizes and fun for all!
You can register to walk on-line at www.cff.org/Great_Strides/LuanaBailey.
Join our Cousins Crusade team or even start your own team! If you are unable to walk
with us but wish to donate just click on the Click to Donate button on my Great Strides home
page! You may also mail a check payable to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, c/o The Bailey Family
at 173 N. Main Street, Perry, NY 14530 or Fanaro Family, 46 S. Parkway, Leicester, NY 14481.
Your donation will be used efciently and effectively, as more than $.90 of every dollar is
used to fund vital programs of the CFF & 100% of all donations are always tax-deductible!
If you are unable to make a monetary donation, wont you please consider donating food,
supplies, or gifts for door prizes for the participants? Just give us a call at (585) 237-2314 or 519-
2378 and we will gladly arrange for pick-up!
Please join our family in our Crusade. Together, we can make a difference!
Thank you for supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the GREAT STRIDES Walk,
Anthony, Jackson and all the families affected by Cystic Fibrosis.

ATTENTION AGRICULTURAL
PROPERTY OWNERS
IN LIVINGSTON COUNTY
The Livingston County Board of Supervisors has
designated the month of September as the thirty-day
period for submission of petitions by landowners for
inclusion of land that is predominantly viable
agricultural land into an existing Agricultural District.
If you would like to have your land included in an
existing Agricultural District, please submit your written
request, along with the tax map identification number
and a description of the farming activities on the land,
to the Livingston County Planning Department,
6 Court Street Room 305, Geneseo, NY 14454 by
September 30, 2013 .
Petitions cannot be accepted for removal of parcels
from an Agricultural District.
Please note: Agricultural District #2 (Towns of Avon,
Conesus, Geneseo, Groveland, Lima and Livonia) is
currently undergoing its eight-year review. If not done already,
property owners interested in including land in Agricultural
District #2 must contact the Livingston County Planning
Department immediately, as the public hearing for the renewal
of this district has been set for September 25, 2013.
Questions can be directed to the County Planning
Department at (585) 243-7550 .

From Left to Right: Ray Ellis, Matt Bean, Tom Dougherty, James Preston and Larry Tetamore
Ray Ellis - Retired Major of Criminal Investigation Division, Livingston County Sheriffs
Department (1976-2008)
I have the utmost respect for Tom Dougherty and his choice for Undersheriff, Matt Bean. They
are the right team for the job!
James Preston - Retired Undersheriff, Livingston County Sheriffs Department (1973-1993)
Tom Dougherty will make a great Sheriff because he is honest, intelligent, educated,
experienced and hard working. He has shown that he works well with colleagues and members
of other police and fire departments as demonstrated by his numerous endorsements. Toms
choice of Matt Bean as his Undersheriff will bring trust, experience and respect for the position.
I have no doubt that Tom will serve and protect the people of this county while acting fiscally
responsible.
Larry Tetamore - Retired Corporal in Charge of Civil Division, Livingston County Sheriffs
Department , (1978-2008)
Having known both men my entire career, I can say that Tom is the right candidate for the job of
Sheriff. He is the fresh start that will move the Sheriffs Department in the right direction.

Wisdom Teeth
Wisdom teeth are always the last teeth to typically
erupt in the mouth. Although your teens mouth may
seem big enough to accommodate them, most often
it is not. As soon as it is clear that the wisdom teeth,
technically known as third molars, will not grow in
normally, they should be removed. Early removal of
the wisdom teeth lessens the risk that your teen will
experience impacted or partial eruption, and the
complications that often result.
