Questionnaire Analysis

GENDER

Female 50%

Male 50%

This pie chart shows the gender split in the people who completed my questionnaire. Even though I randomly gave out my questionnaire, it worked out very well as I have a 50/50 split between males and females. This means I can get accurate information about what each gender likes and see how gender effects the choices chosen in the following questions.

I asked what my candidates were studying at college so I could see how this effects the other questions and therefore link this to what to include such as candidates studying hair dressing would want an element of hair in my college magazine, also so I possibly appeal to a certain college course if I wanted to. As you can see there is a fairly even split between what the candidates are studying and I think for this question to be more effective Id have to widen my sample and ask more candidates to complete my questionnaire not just the ten that did.

Age and Gender Relationship

Female
Male 0 1 2 3 4 5

Between the ages of 21+ Between ages of 16-18

Between the ages of 19-21

This is one of the most important questions I asked in my questionnaire because it specifically targets my aim; to create a magazine. It shows that the majority of candidates read fashion magazines with sport, music and film all proving popular. This left lifestyle, womens, mens and student magazines proving unpopular. I expected this as the magazines the candidates read most are the mainstream magazines of society and this is reflected by my questionnaire.

I created this graph because I felt it was important to see the relationship between age and gender and how this affected the later choices such as a stereotypical teenage girl would listen to pop music and read fashion magazines and a stereotypical twenty year old man would rather listen to rock music and play sports. Therefore this bar chart shows that the majority of my candidates were aged between 16-18; with one more female than male, no one aged between 19-21 completed my questionnaire and that there was three people 21 or over. This is the results I expected because many people start college from leaving school so are going to be 16 and a few years older. This sways me towards aiming my magazine at students aged between 16-18 as from my results and own experience I know this is the majority age group.
