Human Resources: A Plan to Enhance Performance

In our text, Figure 14-1 reminds us that performance is the product of many factors including structure, knowledge, nonhuman resources, strategic positing, and human process. These factors are integrated for performance. Performance means achieving or surpassing business and social objectives from the perspective of the judging party. There are several examples of performance models from our text and other supplementary readings available through your research. Some of these models will have a web-based tool or website which is acceptable use for this assignment. However, if you are using a web-based model or website, be sure to validate your choice of the model with references to the theory that is driving the model. If you are not sure, contact the website author or sponsor for more information. You will be surprised by the dialogue for learning you can achieve by asking them to explain the origins of their model. Choosing models from web searches has become more of a common practice for many real-world organizational leaders. The purpose of this assignment is for you to critically analyze the use of a model beyond a group of individuals claiming it works. Can you prove it through objective research support? You do not want to be known in your organization to be supporting a fad that comes and goes but one who brings in sound solutions and processes for the organization to achieve more. Human Resources: A Plan to Enhance Performance (100 points) 1. You are asked to select a model to utilize as an assessment tool/model for performance enhancement in your organization. 2. After identifying the one most suitable for your organization and/or situation you must determine and then state the human performance opportunity that you will address. 3. You should follow the steps of the model for describing and analyzing the current condition (problem or opportunity in your organization) and produce and describe a plan for addressing the situation and improving performance. Be sure to include the vision of what it will look like after a successful outcome which should be the goal. 4. To assist you in developing your plan, there will be additional resources in Essential Documents where you can obtain a myriad amount of charts and worksheets on this topic. The assignment should be 5 7 pages excluding the cover page, reference page, and abstract. Use APA style for references and citations. However, you have flexibility in formatting and presenting the sections: Model, performance opportunity, the plan, and conclusion. (Do not increase font size of your text beyond Times New Roman 12 pt or add excessive spacing to achieve your page requirements.) You should provide an abstract that can also be transformed into an Executive Summary of findings, process, and proposed activities.
